Does anyone know how strict they are on convertibles. Assuming I can run 13.99 or better, it says I need a roll bar or roll cage. Does the pop-up rollover protection cover that requirement?

Honestly couldnt tell you. Just keep the top up when you tech in, most are to lazy to go far into detail.

Thanks.

Looks like I won't be going today - I didn't realize you can't borrow/rent a helmet!

Anyone here in Socal thinking about hitting the BMW CCA AutoX out @ AutoClub speedway on March 21? Should be a really fun time. If anyone's interested, I can create a thread with all of the relevant information.

Racing against the clock, on a course defined by traffic cones, in a huge parking lot. Autocross, or AutoX, is a safe, low cost way to get into competing with your car. It is also a safe way to learn the dynamics of your car in a controlled environment.

I highly recommend coming out and at least checking the event out. You'll need a helmet and BMW CCA membership to compete. The membership is like $40 a year, and comes with tons of benefits from car purchase rebates to 20% at most dealership parts and service counters. The current rebate on the 1 series is $500. So when you buy a new car, as a BMW CCA member you get cash back. Kinda bitchen' if you ask me.

Here is a video of me doing an AutoX in my old MINI Cooper. Quality is kinda crap, sorry:
