ED V2 - BMW Welt flash site

For those of you who have done ED in the past and for those of you considering it in the future, check out the BMW Welt flash website. This delivery center is opening in October of this year, and is one of the most incredible buildings I've ever seen.

The old Freimann ED center is okay, and they treat you nicely there with a bistro that you have carte blanche on along with some art in the spotless delivery garage, but it was in the middle of a neighborhood and is pretty nondescript.

BMW Welt (world) is like a very futuristic delivery center close the the heart of Munich, and if you watch the flash movie.. WOW! This is like finding BMW utopia. Take a look.

yup, pretty amazing.

I might be there in October

The new center will be amazing, it will handle more cars also, so it will make the ED program even more popular.

here are some pics that someone took out there this summer

Irv, nice pics, and it looks like they are true to design compared to the flash video. I think this is right by the 4 cylinder building, across the street from the Olympic park, correct?

This place is going to be amazing compared to the old Freimann Delivery Center!

Edit: I guess I was right. Here's the google map satellite image of the new BMW Welt location. Kinda cool that you can see a roundel from space.

It's also available for European customers, but off course than it isn't called ED (or European Delivery).

Getting the car at BMW Welt is an option on the pricelist in Germany...

Package includes factory and museum visit and off course BMW Welt visit.

you're right, I did hear about that, it's called a Factory Delivery or something like that. But as far as I know, there was no discount associated with that, am I right?

No discount on the car.

In the end the Factory Delivery costs exactly the same as when you pick up the car at your dealer.

It just the extra experience picking up your car at the factory (complete with visit to Munich BMW factory and BMW Museum, vehicle-briefing and some other goodies)

I sure hope the Canadian ED improves with the new delivery center. (it was supposed to)
It isn't nearly the the same deal as the USofA.

As I understand it, a Canadian ED sale still comes out of the dealer allotment,
so there's no incentive for the dealer to make an ED sale.
Also, no leasing option.....

Our Gov doesn't help the situation either.
They classify a ED car as a used vehicle & nail us with an additional 6% duty.
Net result, it costs us more to do a ED than delivering local

BMW Canada was supposed to be working to improve things..... here's hoping :fingers crossed:

BMW Welt is designed by Israeli architect Zaha Hadid.
She also designed the BMW factory in Leipzig where the 1-er coupe is exclusively made.
There's a lot of architects (starchitects) who have bigger reputations but she is absolutely fantastic. One of the best.
