Anyone do an anthracite headliner?
In the near future I want to go with a black headliner. Has anyone done it yet, or put together a parts list of needed parts? I am on the edge between OEM or going to a shop and having them use black Alcantara.

Check e90Post. Several people there have posted big mod jobs for show cars and stuff there, for a reference point.

I'm also really interested in this, as I'm sure a lot of people are. I haven't seen anyone remove the headliner of a 1er yet, and I'm hoping one of our forum members will feel adventurous and post a DIY.

^^^Ah you are right, I forgot about that. That was a long time ago, no? I believe he payed someone to do it for him...1700 dollars? To get all the parts would cost about 700 dollars and if you want a parts list I'm sure Dan@united would be glad to work with you.

I went to a near by upholstrey shop, i got a quote for $1500 to do this, i was wondering how much is the OEM one?
also if you take it to a shop you would still need black handle bars and the dome lighting trim |

Here's the parts list I got from Dan when I asked him about this:
51 44 8 045 133 51 43 8 036 137 51 43 8 036 138 51 43 8 046 487 51 43 8 046 488 51 43 8 046 489 51 43 8 046 490 61 31 9 197 759 $689.62 The price might have changed a bit and you need to provide your VIN. This is one mod I really want to do because I think it would look so much better, but I'm just holding off until I do a few other things. I also looked into getting the headliner custom wrapped in suede and the quote I got for that was $250 if I remember correctly.

The shop that I work for does the suede headliners all the time. For our car it would be about $1300.00, but that would include the A,B,C pillars and sun shade.
I have been thinking about doing this in my car, but don't really want to take everything apart. Maybe in the springtime

anthracite headliner
Talk to jason @ getbmwparts.com, here is his email, I just done it to a 06 325cia, I was thinking a while back about trading for a 135i before they offered the ZMP package (which now includes anthrcaite headliner), he will be able to get you the parts @ approx 20% off retail, best you can do with BMWCCA is 10% plus no tax, only part you might have to buy local is the actual headliner, with what i saved it was well worth using getbmwparts.com

Personally I'm more worried about the labor and the strain on those parts than on the cost of them.
Am I worried about something thats not a big deal? (the $680 parts isn't the worst part) since if it were a dealer option I would have paid at least $500 for it.

What are you talking about? The actual labor to remove the parts? It seems like a time consuming job, but not neccesarily a hard one.

I just ordered all the parts for my 135i from Dan at United. As soon as they arrive I will get everything installed. Can't wait!
