~5.5mm to the strut tube. MASSIVE clearance to the brakes. I bet these would do a proper BBK.

What the actual hell. Why don't they make 18's in proper rear offsets for us. Ugh.

Unfortunately, the 3-series out-sold the 1-series by almost an order of magnitude in NA. What would you build wheels for? If I ever need to, I'll just do the drive flange hub swap with 3-series parts and gain 10mm per side. It's really not that hard.

Don't you need new rear wheel bearings to do that, then have issues with the parking brake shoes no longer fitting as well? Dunno. Seems expensive and a major PITA to me. I'm at the point where I'd rather do body work than fit parts which may limit my ability to perform regular maintenance on my car down the road.

Wonder how many millimeters of clearance is gained by cutting out the lip on the rear quarter. I remember Berk being able to run a 285 out back by doing that. Maybe 7-8mm?

Eh, it's not that bad replacing a bearing and hub. You could just as easily put in a 335i rear hub assembly from the junkyard. It doesn't get more bolt on than that, though you might have to do some research on the brakes. I bet it's just a matter of getting the correct rear rotor and you don't even have to break the rear brake lines.

I distinctly remember lots of drama about the parking brake shoes when Audrey_GTA went through detailing that conversion. Maybe it wouldn't apply in the case of using a 335i rear hub. Thoughts?

New wheels coming out in 1-series figment for us. >18lbs, but the first run will be in 18" diameter. Same company producing these wheels for BimmerWorld is making them.

I have thoroughly f̶o̶n̶d̶l̶e̶d̶ Wheel-Waxed each wheel and have to say they are beautifully made. The tires are being installed tomorrow and I'll (eventually) follow up with more feedback and pics.

Lost a little over 6.5 pounds per side in the rear and the fit is perfect.

Are all the wheels 17x8.5 Et40? And, do you have the rear hub swap?

That's the correct size, and no, I haven't done the hub swap.

These really do look great. 17" is really best from a functionality standpoint and I'm normally not a fan, but it's hard to tell those aren't 18's. Great design.

I forget. Did I show this here? Not too bad for a 17" wheel.
