Has anyone purchased the 1M Front Bumper and Fenders from ECS Tuning?
Looking into buying the 1M front bumper and fenders from ecstuning.com to install on my 135i Cabriolet. Just wondering if anyone has done the same conversion and if the parts fit flush and proper on the 135i. I've heard some people say that the fenders do not match up with the 135i skirts. My 135i Cabriolet has the M Sport and Premium packages, not sure if that makes a difference.
Any other input on doing the conversion would be greatly appreciated. I know there are other 1M conversion threads on the forums but they all list dozens of OEM parts. All I want right now is the 1M look, I'm not concerned about "supporting" parts right now, ie. control arms or whatever else is different on the 1M. I made a thread detailing the parts.
You need more than just the fenders and bumpers. You need headlight brackets , a new headlight fluid wAsher reservoir, side markers, underbody tray, ducting, front fender liners, as well as a few other minor parts. The side skirts don't match up- if you go 1m skirts, they don't match in the rear and if U go 135i skirts, they don't match in the front. You need to either live with them not lining up or get them custom flushed like @sk8fe I got all of my parts from Phil@reevesbmw and Jon @bmwpartspros. They couldn't be beaten at the time for pricing. |

back from the dead as I am looking for an answer to the same question. Is there any solution to retaining the headlamp washer system with a 1m replica bumper? I don't necessarily WANT to keep the headlamp washer system as I could care less, but I do not want to go removing stuff like that from my car either.
Any help is greatly appreciated!! |

kept searching and found an alternate answer. I am sure many of you already know, but I will share in case anyone else who is looking for some information on this stumbles upon this particular thread.
It seems as though the best route to go if installing a replica 1m front cover and you have headlamp washers is to pull fuse 48 to deactivate the headlamp washer system. See the following link: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=221459&page=2 |

Bought the 1M replica from ECS, they were very helpful. I do have headlight washers and plan on pulling the fuse until I can get them coded off altogether. Probably leaving the actual fog lights themselves out since I don't have that option natively on my car. (Plus, I hear it requires modification of the stock plastic brake ducts.) Bumper should be in later this week to the shop for prepping and painting. I will let you guys know how my experience turns out if you like.

Definitely post pictures or a link in here. I may be in need of a new front bumper and would like to know how that turns out.

Oh sh_t. I just got my 1er back this weekend with the 1M bumper and thought I was done on the major exterior mods for awhile.....and now this. I need more money.
In any event, without further ado...(sorry if the pictures are sized too large, didn't have time to edit before getting ready for work tomorrow.) |
