CSL Style Trunk, Blacklines, and Rieger Diffuser (Photos)

So after being rear ended back in May, I finally got my car fixed up. Got the CSL style trunk and blacklines from Schmiedmann. Rieger diffuser from ESE. I would give the trunk a 8/10 fitment. I love how the trunk looks but the gap around the trunk is a little larger than stock fitment. From a few feet away (and in photos), the larger gap is not noticeable. It might bug some people. Depending how anal you are. I ended up not putting the emblem on. I love how clean it looks. I got the CF style diffuser. But looking at it now, I think I'm going to plasti-dip it black or paint it primer matte black. A project for this weekend maybe. Next will be to install the Arkym Front Bumper. Sorry for the quick garage pics. Will take some outside DSLR pics this weekend.

Thanks man. Hows the job hunting going? The Seattle weather is beautiful right now. Not trying to rub it in. LOL.

That rear looks super aggressive. How do you like the rieger diffuser? I'm on the fence about getting one right now. Hows fitment and the carbon fiber look?

Love the trunk. I'd prefer the diffuser in gloss black though.

Fitment is great. Not a fan of the carbon fiber look. It looks better on the online pictures that in person. I'm going to paint it matte black.

I think the diffuser looks a bit funny from the side. I don't like how it just ends. Definitely need to extend it to the rear wheel well.

But from an angle and straight on, it looks pretty bad ass. Really compliments the the CSL style trunk. Some day pics.

Did you get the carbon fiber or the fiberglass version? Was the fitment good, or did anything have to be done to it?

I'm assuming it was this one or the same thing in carbon fiber.: http://www.schmiedmann.com/en/bmw-e8...roduct=BA82EVO

I got the fiberglass version. The fitment is decent. The gap around the trunk is a bit larger than stock but the shop did a good job making everything even and lined up. I give fitment 7/10. The shop had to primer and sand a few times to make the surface perfect. Be warned. Shipping was expensive! But came super quick.

Love everything except the Rieger diffuser. Was on the fence about it for a while but IMO it just looks too weird on our 1ers lol. In love with the trunk and the blacklines though!!!

I think the problem is that it sticks too far out from the bumper.

If you get a picture that doesn't show how far out it sticks and mostly in shadows, it looks ok. Like that pic. But as soon as you move from straight on it looks horrible. Most of the pics looks like it's being dragged by the car. Really dislike that diffuser. If everything was flush to the bumper it would look great. It really doesn't flow with the car at all. Just my opinion.

I hear you and I agree that the diffuser by itself is a bit much. It's a very aggressive piece for (what I would consider to be) a vehicle with a pretty conservative stock profile.

I've posted this pic before, but just throwing it up to illustrate the difference - if you have the supporting mods to make it look like the diffuser isn't an afterthought, I think it works very well. Just a quick note - the "carbon look" on this diffuser is a carbon hydrodip pattern and it looks pretty terrible imo. I had to end up spraying it so that it didn't look so dumb.

Looks sexy. Gives the car a heavy look. Would suggest a drop next. The big wheels and roof rack make it look like you're driving a 4x4
