Installing JB4/Cobb AP, with pre-existing flash
Hello and happy Friday everyone! Just a quick question I hope someone can answer. I'm planning on installing either JB4 or Cobb AP and but I also already have Dinan S3 running on my car. My question is do I need to flash back to stock before installing either JB4 or Cobb AP or can I run either systems at the same time with the Dinan flash? Would this be considered stacking as well?
I'm leaning more towards JB4 at the moment but already purchased a Cobb AP V3 prematurely cause I got a good deal but may just sell it. If I go JB4 i'll be stacking with MHD eventually so I just want to confirm if there will be any negative effects or downsides to running this with the Dinan flash already running as well. thanks in advance for any thoughts

Thanks and I appreciate the feedback but still doesn't answer my question. I'm definitely selling the Cobb asap. So If I do decide to go JB4/MHD Stack, or just MHD only does that mean i'll have to Reflash back to stock first before doing either or?

MHD will replace your dinan tune completely. Ask the MHD guys if you can write directly over it or if a stock flash is needed first. MHD can also flash a stock binary, but maybe not to a car without MHD or stock software.
JB4 is best to throw in the trash or put on classifieds. It hijacks like 4 sensors and spams the canbus vs a good flash tune having over 100 complicated maps modified from stock, letting the engine make power more smoothly, consistently under a variety of conditions AND most important with the stock safeties working as well as they can! |

Cobb for N55 makes less power than MHD, way fewer features, access tuner race no longer available or supported and when it was it lacked crucial maps. I ran Cobb for over a year when it was the only flash for N55 available without sending off the ECU. There weren't any problems with the stock maps they're just mediocre. And if you want a better one, well, you're SOL. N55 just isn't a platform cobb supported well in the first place and then they completely dropped support a while ago.

There actually is a purpose for a JB4 with MHD. Plenty of high horsepower set ups utilize both MHD and JB4 for boost control, methanol control coupled with MHD, it's actually an ideal solution for a when a flash doesn't have a specific capability.
