Humming Sound

Every morning when I open the door to my 128i, I hear a humming sound. I can't seem to pinpoint where exactly the sound is coming from, but it's inside the car somewhere and not inside the engine compartment. The sound eventually goes away after a couple of minutes. I'm not sure if the sound comes on every time I open the door, but then again, I park my 128 in the garage so I think it's just quieter where I can actually hear the humming. Has anyone experience this and can anyone tell me what it is...

I'm not sure about the 128 but my R32's fuel lift pump started when the drivers door opened, in anticipation of you getting in the car and firing up the engine.

Or it cold be the HD on the idrive if you have it

I can hear it in my 135 also, to me i sounds like its coming form the dash area. I was guessing its the fuel pump getting ready.

Definitely sounds like the iDrive CD on mine.

I don't have an iDrive in my 128. However, I had them add the sirius satellite to the existing radio (they added a modulator) so I thought that may be what's causing it, but the dealership says no... I guess I could always bing it in, but there's really nothing wrong with the car.
