Official 1M All-In Thread
Enough of the naysayers and deal breakers, "I can't believe it has an is engine" or "I can't believe it doesn't have (insert random feature)."
I'm in. Period. I've seen and read enough to know that I would absolutely love to have this car. As long as the limited production rumor doesn't preclude me from having the opportunity to buy one and BMW doesn't do something stupid like price it over $50k, I'm in. Forget about all the pre-conceived notions about what an M car should be. Every reviewer so far has said that the bottom line on this car is that it is an absolutely blast to drive. That's what matters, not saving 8 lbs with a carbon fiber roof or breaking some imaginary redline barrier in order to be considered "high-revving." If I get one of these, I'll even do all of the other 1M owners a huge favor and increase their resale values because I will drive the crap out of mine and keep it forever (or at least for a couple of decades). Anyways, enough of my ranting. It's a very slow day at work, and I just thought we could use a positive thread in here in light of all the negativity. I can't wait for December to get the full visual along with (hopefully) the nitty-gritty details, then real-life pics in January from Detroit, maybe going to see it in person in Geneva in March... Next few months are gonna be exciting. Now, what's the over/under on number of posts before this thread turns into a DCT/MT argument? I'm thinking seven. |

My only caveat, since I'm not super wealthy, is that I'll buy one if my own personal "economy" remains good. Guess that's true for most of us.

Well, you can forget all that. The new car is fitted with a turbocharged straight six. Turbocharging? In an M car? That’s like putting gravy on an ice cream. - Jeremy Clarkson, discussing the S65 and then S55 M3 engines. |

I'm in as well, just maybe not until later in 2011 (my current 1er is only 13 months into it's finance term). Want to be out of negative equity when I trade in.
I am in love with the 1M. Feel like they made it for me. Going to tour on it something shocking as well!

I'm in. Put my deposit down a month or two ago. Based on what I've heard, this car will be the best combination of fun and practicality available to me. Improved suspension alone does it for me, since that seems to be the only real weakness in the 135i. The rest is gravy.

Number 1 on the list for this at my dealer. My only dilema is do i go for my usual colour of black or should i buy a white one ? I was hoping alpine would do me a quality render in black to help me make my mind up.

From my sales rep...
"From what I've heard there will be a very limited supply of these cars and they will be going into production at the beginning of March 2011. I would not require a deposit from you but I'm still not clear on my allocation. I will find out more and be in touch as soon as I have something to share." |

Just as long as I can order mine before they are all out.
I'm going to owe less than $17,000 by then on my 135i. I'll throw down whatever I can get out from this and probably an extra $5-8000. I wanna make sure my payment is less than $500 a month. What's insurance gonna be like?

What colours you going for? Anyone going got Alpine White, that's already got an Alpine White Bimmer?
I just can't bring myself to go the same colour twice in a row. Orange or black.. gf says orange, I'm thinking black (though I do think the orange is amazing looking.. but do I want to drive around in an orange car, daily )

Unless I'm pushing my price too high or the extra cost is absurd, mine is orange (w/green stem!)

I had an 135i already so it's hard to justify 45-50 and not get a brand new experience. Prove me wrong BMW and I am in.
