Has anyone experienced this w/the LUX AE's?

I had the dealership install the 5000k AE’s as my car was in for service anyways and when I went to pick it up I noticed there was condensation in the passenger side headlight again. They’ve replaced the headlight again however when they were programming the vehicle they noticed that there was a fault code for the drivers side stepper motor as it is not able to fully rotate. They’ve attempted to place the ballast for the LUX AE’s in different locations within the headlight housing however were unable to find a location to place them without them interfering with the stepper motor so they decided to remove the LUX AE’s and replace the stock bulbs. I’ve now been told by the dealership that should I choose to reinstall the LUX AE’s it’s at my own risk should there be any further issues with the headlights and BMW Canada has already flagged my file for this issue so even if I were to replace the LUX AE’s, have issues with the headlights and then replace the stock AE bulbs and bring the vehicle in for warranty they’ll be able to check the vehicle for fault codes for the stepper motor and will not honor the warranty.

But what is the actual cause of moisture getting into the headlight? I would like to think that the techs at BMW know how to replace the cover correctly...

Happens all the time. The cover is not mounted properly leaving a small gap between the gasket and rim which allows moisture to get inside. On an older 135 it could be the gasket...becomes deformed and compressed and will not match the rim when mounted again. I see you have a 2012 135 so the mounting of the cover was an error by the technicians. I use 3M dbl side tape to mount the ballast to the cover. GL.

Ughhh this is soooooooooo annoying! This is the second headlight I've gone through! Weird thing is it's always the passenger side and never the driver side...
