I'm with you! seeing that more and more people realise that the F Series are very different cars to the E Series. Not to say it's better or worst but it's just different. The F series is more refined and more electronic aid. I'm sure there will be people that will be trading up to the M2 but there will be some that will be keeping it because the car is more RAW! I no doubt will pick the RAW. Though I know what a true RAW CAR feels like as I had a GT3 and the 1M still feel very refined and quiet compared to the GT.

Hopefully the value of 1M will go up as there are limited production cars unlike the M2 Mass production.

Definitely raw, that's why I traded up to the 1m

Too many nanny modes in these new cars,
Might as well catch a taxi and let someone else drive
us around

As an every day car maybe a m2 as they will never
keep their value

A low km 1m is always going to fetch a premium
price

Sorry, should have specified ones with sub 40k kms. Higher km cars are into the 60's, but most with 36k kms are well into the 70's.

Im toying with the idea of selling mine. Its the 3rd car in the family and really does not get used much. Kinda a waste.

BSM done 38k kms and 4 weeks BMW warranty left.

I reckon a sale would be $70k odd

I brought mine for 79k with 8700km, ones with 30k plus should be late 60s or very low 70s at best.

What people ask is a bit ridiculous

But again its what someone is willing to pay for it.

No wonder most of these cars are just sitting there not getting sold.

These are collector item. so depending on mileage and options and year as it's 2011/2012. But it's a niche market so it won't attract everyone.

Some people are definitely dreaming, but I think most of the sellers are moving their cars within a decent period. I bought my car in June, and 90% of the cars listed at that time are gone.

A lot of cars in general sit on the market for 3 months +, so the sweet spot seems to be high 60's for something around 40k, and then up to 80k for the sub-10k cars, with the rest proportionally priced in-between.

I think colour will be the determining factor for a lot of people. I know if something happened to mine I'd want another VO, so would pay more for it if needed. There's only 2 for sale at the moment so I might be tempted to pay more. However, when I bought mine there were a few VO's around, and BSM's were asking higher prices. Depends on the buyer and timing.

I also think most cars would have been bought on a 3 year lease, hence the amount of cars for sale earlier this year. With the M2 coming out, we may see the highest influx of cars to the market next to early this year, so would probably be the time to buy.

I hoped that the price does not dropped too much. Having said that the M2 is gonna be $120k most likely. I have not heard on the official pricing but that's what a lot of people are speculating it to be. If that's the case I think the prices of the 1M will hold as the gap is too big therefore the 1m will either appreciate abit depending on mileage. I know many would say that it's probably their weekend car therefore the mileage doesn't really matter. That is true but when you are selling the lower mileage will always look more attractive.

Therefore it will still command and higher price. It also depends on individuals for options. I for once MUST have comfort access!

What you guys think on the 1m pricing ?

I don't really think you can state they are collectors items when BMW sold 400 of them locally and sold over 6000 world wide. They will never be a collector car on that basis and prices should and will reflect this accordingly.

The E46 M3 CSL is the closest late model production BMW that will be a collectable.

I would have to say that the latest BMW collector model cars would be the E92 M3 GTS and E90 M3 CRT.

I know of 2 M3 GTS in Oz (1 x LHD and 1 RHD) and 1 M3 CRT in the country.

Actually only 301 cars were sold in Australia. I have the VIN list. Was originally going to be 100 cars, then BMW increased it to 200, then they got an additional allocation after the Japanese earthquake and went a bit crazy . . .

I think they should have stopped at 200.
