How is a vehicles F-to-R weight distribution calculated? Is it the center point between the bumpers or between the wheels?

I believe that they simply put scales beneath the wheels.

That makes waaay to much sense for me. Man I sound like an idiot with my post question. What I am really trying to determine is if I remove weight from the car, back seats for example, how will that influence F-to-R weight distribution? Having access to scales to do a before and after is ideal. But without scales I suppose it is a judgment call how much any weight reduction will change the balance. Pretty easy to weight the part removed (bathroom scale will do just fine), but not free and easy to weight the car, with measurements for each corner.

Because the rear seats -- which I've removed from my car -- are between the wheels, they're not going to affect balance much.

In any event, weight reduction is good and I wouldn't worry about any deleterious affects on handling.
