It's crazy how just about everything is an option. Acoustic Seal Belt Warning a paid option???? I mean seriously???

Wish it was a no-cast cancelable option here in the US. Was a royal PITA, but luckily i got it Euro coded and disabled. Who would actually pay money for that is beyond me...

sorry for late reply, but been abroad on business (and a little pleasure :-D).

unfortunately, i am starting to think i won't be getting one of these babies as my dealer informed me that their allocation is 2 units only and they're one of the top 3 largest dealers! i am really bummed as i am #3 at 3, THREE, dealers :-(

The 'M coupe' is now available on www.bmw.co.za configurator. Is reflecting Xenons and rain/light sensors as standard but automatic climate control and PDC as optional

50 to 200??? who told you this??. I am number 1 at my dealer and its a huge one so im safe. It seamed to range from 32- 60 depending on who you taked to.
Did you get a production date yet, I havent been given one?? I dont want them to be so common. The less the better.

I also when on to the site now and the Price has gone up to R546000. How can they increase the price before it has even one have been sold.

I just spoke to my dealer (Isando BMW). they told me at first they where getting 3. now they are getting only 1. It is apparently comming already speced and if I still want it i can have it. She said that they are definitly still only getting 50 and many of them are going to press etc.

I wish I could get the truth...

Got a similar story from my dealer, they will get one car which will be a 'unit' (already built with no flexibility in options) but as they are an M dealer they may get another car which hopefully they would be able to spec.

I wonder why they are getting already speced cars.. it sounds like BMW SA must be doing the orders and just giving the cars to the dealers..

I really dont want to pay for extras i wont use.

New to this but 200 units would be highly improbable. Spoke to my dealer owner and he says BMWsa is under investigation by HQ for inflated prices so cars coming in will be in lesser numbers expecially m cars. On a lighter note if your on the list the cars should be on a ship before the end of this week and reach docks in 28 days. I hope this is so as I can't wait for mine

No production date yet for SA and only 60 cars allocated for SA. According to my dealer first cars will arrive at around July/August.

SA is getting 64 cars, all dealers (provided they have the car on order bank) will receive one car, M dealers will get first cars and some M dealers will get additional allocation. The bulletin notes that the last month of production will be December 2011.

Base price in NZ is $109,000 incl tax. That's USD $86,000. Oh well - at least we get all the options such as nav and decent stereo as standard.

BMW's margin in Australia must be AMAZING.
Here in Israel there's ~100% tax. That means my 1M will be setting me back over US$130,000.

It comes off Bulletin sent to dealers today. There are 13 cars scheduled for build in May and I suppose it is these cars that might come prespecced unless the dealers are able to get their customer specs in to the system in time, but it seems that dealers havent been given allocation and accordingly can't do so...

Confirmed the above. My dealer will definitely get 2 allocations, they are M certified and exceeded their M targets in 2010. I am number two on the list so should get my car

Problem is, my dealer being in the affluent part of SA, there might be someone willing to pay a premium on the car and thus me losing the allocation..

What dealer did you put your name at? do you think dealers are allowed to sell the car for a premium? i dont like the sound of that.. did your dealer say anything about you being able to spec your car or not??

Sandton Auto, the allocations have not been given yet. I'm worried someone might put up a premium on the car, demand vs supply.
