You can look on RealOEM.com

Just plug in your car model, build date and then look up the options.

You will need to know:

Xeons or Halogens
Rain sensor(I think all US crs have them)
Front fog lights (yes or no)

There are like six or seven light switches(that BMW makes for various options/cars)! Plus for 2012 M.Y., they have that chrome accent switch now too. Just go to a local UK dealer and they should be able to hook you up. Btw.. I think the 128i switch costs more than the 135i. I think I paid like 65 euros for mine. I seem to recall some of the 128i switchs were up too 130 euros or so. Just don't be shocked.

Thanks for the heads up. I want to custom fit some front fogs but I want it to be OEM style. But for 65 extra euros ill do the lego mod., Maybe its different here in the UK

Although I like the chrome ones, the current prices of ~$120+ USD is pretty pricey for rear fogs. I can only think of once or twice a year when I would actually want to use them. I hadn't thought of the use for tailgaters...

The lego/etc mod seems like a good choice, keeping the feature hidden, especially since they are technically not legal in the US (I like how Turner adds the disclaimer "Please note: As this switch enables the rear fog lights, lighting which was not originally included on US specification models, this headlight switch is sold exclusively for OFF ROAD / RACING USE ONLY.")

FWIW, my switch had the white piece already in it. I didn't even need the lego pieces to get it to work.

I just replaced the switch. The vent fascia was horrible. I didn't even get it off completely. The left side came loose, the right side came loose half way up ad then was stuck, and it was bending at the one stuck point. Very close to breaking. Not pretty. Was still able to access the screws to drop the panel, but the vent fascia isnt' even snapped back in as flush as it was before.

There has to be a better way of taking off that vent fascia.

But this is a good clean mod. Now if someone would finally figure out how to wire front fogs to the euro switch for 135's.

I finally got around to doing this mod and there is a better way. It's much easier to pull out the whole vent to avoid breaking the clips, you just need to pull the side panel off to get access to release the vent.

I was installing the P3 gauge at the same time as doing the mod, so I followed the directions here:

And the whole vent came out, no risk of breaking the clips on the vent fascia.

(I then had to remove the fascia to install the P3 gauge and you really need to have the vent in your hands, not the car, to get access to the sides of the vent to properly release the fascia. I'm not surprised people have trouble just pulling up while the vent remains in the car).

This is great. I wish I saw this earlier. I came very close to breaking the fascia. I may use this method to pop the vent out to snap the fascia back in better.
This makes more sense, since just ripping the fascia off doesn't. Removing the whole vent with catches and holes and releases is the way bmw usually does things.

Lol. I ALMOST snapped my vent cover. It's a little stressed but it looks like new still. I have no idea for part numbers because I was looking also. The best I could do is the entire vent for the drivers side for about 40 bucks.

I activated my rear fog lamps in less than 30 minutes with a razor blade, sawed-off pen barrel, double-sided tape, and a rectangular piece of credit card plastic. My friend's car was newer so he already had the "lego" piece so we just had to cut off the tangs on the button. Why pay for the Euro headlamp switch when you only get an extra "lego" part and the rear fog lamp logo stamped on the button?

Old Thread, but to update it a little. Some of the posts say you have to have xenon lamps and rain sensor. I've got a 2011 128i (but June 2010 Build Date) with halogens and rain sensor and it was a piece of cake to do this. Bulbs were already in place but not doing much of anything. No need for the lego-fix.

Instructions on page 1 are great for accessing the switch box.

FYI for 1 Series owners

You don't need to take the vent trim off to do the light switch. Its much easier if you take the side trim out of the dash, there's also not a risk of breaking anything.

Just follow the first couple steps of the P3Cars vent gauge install.
