19"s will fit but you have to provide a little more information about the wheels; width, offset, and what size tire you want to run (sidewall)

If they fit on a E46 most likely they will not fit on your 1 series. But to be certain I need complete wheel specs including offset and widths.

They'll fit but you'll be limited by tire. The front will definitely work with some camber! You'll need over -2° of camber up front at least to clear and can run a 215/35/19 or 225/35/19 up front.

As for the rear, that's going to be a really aggressive fitment. I'm running 19x8.5/9.5 ET35/45 with 225/35 and 255/30 with -2.5° of camber up front and rolled fenders front and rear with the rear trimmed where the bumper meets the quarter panel and I still get occasional rubbing. You definitely won't be able to fit more than a 245/30/19 in the rear and may need some camber as well. It's doable, it's just a question of how effort you want to put into making it work and if you're okay with those tire sizes. Those tire sizes are still in the manufacturer recommended size range for those wheel widths but you're at the edge of that range. There will be some stretch. If you're okay with that, go for it.

Thank you for the extensive explanation- I’ve got this BBS CH set from my previous Z3 and hoped the’d fit. I’ll just try them on in the near future when changing to winter tyres.. just to see if the ‘look’ confirms what your saying.

If so- it’s not what I was hoping for, also 245
I was thinking of 265/30-19.. for some additional grip.

From experience you'll need more like +45-50 offset to fit 265/30/19

My Volks are from an E46 special order, but my offsets are et42fr and et45r. I finally did the rear brake hub mod to gain around 7mm so I can run proper 255 rears (Michelin PSS), or even 265s, etc in some brands of tires.

So if you really love wheels with offsets like that and no what you are getting into, you can make them somewhat fit.
