Burning oil smell

So as of recent, maybe the last month, temperatures have dropped and the heat's been on daily, but as of the last week I've been getting a burnt oil smell when the heat is on, especially if the car doesn't move. I haven't noticed any abnormal oil consumption or smoke (granted with the cold it's always smoking) and no weird smoke from engine bay. I did take a look at the valve cover and there definitely some seepage from it. Could that be enough to cause the smell?
Plugs and coils were done less than 10k miles ago and have been running MHD 1+ for less than 2k miles.

Here's what the seepage looks like.. one pic is from the front corner, the other is passenger side rear above turbo..

It looks like the valve cover is the culprit. The smell should go away after you replace it, the smell is caused by the oil being burned off as the engine gets hot.

+1. Time to replace the valve cover and gasket. I had the same issue with a burning oil smell. Replaced the valve cover and gasket and fixed the problem. You should probably also consider doing the oil filter housing gasket while the work is being done.

Figured that was the culprit. I don't have any issue with the OFHG. Probably won't touch that unless it has to come off with then VC

Somewhat strange that the mechanic who did your plugs & coils didn't notice leakage ("less than 10K miles ago"). Mine (altho a 128) had significant leakage under the engine cover but only "seepage" on the outside.
And FWIW, my BMW garage just replaced the gasket, not the whole valve cover. And, a pro on here recommended I leave the engine cover off; it does nothing but hides problems. I followed his advice.

When I did my coils and plugs there wasn't any leaking. So it had to start in the last few months at most. I'm about 3500 miles from last oil change also, and didn't see anything abnormal then either.
Good point in the engine cover. It'll stay off when the gasket gets replaced
