Nice. Now just need one of us unlucky locked DME owners to try this and report back.

The unlocked DMEs have been able to re-flash with it and the locked DMEs have been unlocked through OBD. I'm waiting for a little more detail: Does it work through WiFi adapter? (I'm sure the answer is yes) Do you still need the flasher app after using the unlock app? (It looks like this new app replaces the flasher app but I need an answer on that)

I just heard back from MHD: wait for the official release and, yes, it's WiFi compatible.

Carfanatic, that’s with v1.7? You’ve got to be one of the first trying it.
V1.6 was available on FB and it worked flawlessly for the ones that tried it. I just ordered the WiFi OBD adapter this morning and I'll be locked until that arrives so I can't give any advice from experience until I unlock. Last edited by drwillb; 11-28-2019 at 01:25 PM.. |

I have a 2014 x1 35i with n55. I'm assuming this will work. Very very interested and will be following up when I get home from family stuff.
If there's any kind of guide I'll flash my x1 tonight. I'm very familiar with MHD in general on unlocked n55, as well as n54. So I don't need much hand holding. Thanksgiving miracle lol the daily driver is gonna get some boost. |

Darkrom, the new flasher app takes the place of the old one. Everything else is the same with MHD: still need to buy tune packs and license. Nothing else has changed.
If you use a JB4 BEF that flash is free. |

Saw this last night and decided to take advantage of the Black Friday sale to finally give this a go. For reference, my car is a late model 2012 135i that previously would have needed to have been bench flashed/unlocked (it wasn't).
I picked up a 15A charger from Home Depot for about ~50 which I'll return later. Based on the condition of the box, I won't be the first one to return this particular charger. Anyways, I hooked everything up, turned off the HVAC/lights/stereo and unplugged everything that I had plugged in. The initial flash took about 10-12min or so using an eBay cable that I bought years ago to use with INPA/NCSExpert. Although I know they're not the recommended ones, I figured it would be fine to use since I have had no problems with any of the other apps that I've used it for. I initially had flashed to the Stock map + MHD since I have not replaced my plugs/coils in a long time, though I decided to go to Stage 1 for a quick drive just to see how fast it would flash (less than a minute) and just because. I'll be doing some datalogging and if I see anything off, I'll revert to the stock map until I do my plugs/coils which at this point would be in the spring. Don't know if it's the map or the linear throttle mapping, but I am absolutely loving how the car drives at the moment, at least based on a quick run down the highway and back. All that to say if you've got a locked N55 DME and you've been wondering if you should give this a try, it works great and is extremely easy. |

Flashed it on my n55 X1 and love it. No problems at all. I went stage one as the car is stock for now. Eventually stage 2+ with the dp and intercooler.
Can someone explain the linear throttle? How does that work exactly. I left that off for now since I don't understand if it affects anything else or robs power at all. Big fan of MHD. happy to have it on my AT X1. Been enjoying jb4 + MHD on my 6mt n54 135 for a long time. Only complaint is that I can't hear even the aggressive burbles with the stock exhaust fully in place. A certain component may have to be removed sooner than later lol. |

darkrom If you're not hearing the burble try these steps.
Make sure you updated your flash after selecting your options such as burble. In the options I would also select keep exhaust flap open when in sport mode. I have a 135i and when in base mode the burbles are very quiet almost can't hear them but when in sport they are nice and loud. For the linear throttle it removes the 80% torque at 40% throttle this helps with making the throttle more linear and predictable. This is also for the sport mode not base mode as that's when throttle is tipped in. Hope this helps. |

Finally I can do a downpipe on my LMB 2013 135i 6mt!
Should be getting this soon. Does anyone know if my Dinan Stage2 will be considered the stock tune now? |

I bought a kindle fire 7 today for $29 at Best Buy. Already did the Google Play install, installed the MHD flasher, downloaded and installed a unzip app, downloaded BMS BEF folder and unzipped contents, just waiting for my WiFi adapter to arrive so I can jailbreak my car.
I’ve been waiting 2 years for this. |

I hope this is the case. For this alone, I would seriously consider paying additional for MHD to have options despite already having the Dinan S2 tune.

Someone reach out to MHD and confirm!
I think I'm gonna go catless downpipe and MHD with the wifi adapter in the spring. Getting my snow tires installed Friday. I wonder who makes the best catless n55 pipe? |
