Apex EC-7 Group Buy
Anyone going to bite the bullet?
I wasn't planning on buying new wheels anytime soon but these seem almost like too good of a deal to pass up. If 1-199 people sign up it is -$100 + free shipping, 200+ people they will be -$200 + free shipping. With the current deal I priced the wheels at $1236. They would ship in August according to the site. For specs I would likely run: 18x9.5et22 with a 265 tire 18x10.5et27 with a 285 tire Is the et22 too aggressive in the front? They also offer an et35, but if I remember correctly from a post I read on the arc-8 the et35 would require a small spacer and I would rather not run a spacer. But if the et22 would rub with a 265 I would consider running a small spacer in order to not rub. Thinking either anthracite or silver in color, likely anthracite. I have only seen them on one 1M, I believe it was at bimmerfest: Here is the link to the group buy: http://www.apexraceparts.com/EC-7-Pr...Buy_p_154.html |

This is the only one I have seen. The style looks very similar to the stock wheels one the 1M, obviously smaller.
Anyone with the arc-8s want to comment on the ideal offset for using a 265 up front? Or possibly a square setup? |

I love my apex arc 8s in 18 x 10. If anyone wants to sell theirs in favor of these, drop me a note! To answer your question, my arc 8s with ET 25 are fine. I would go with et22 on the 9.5s. If this is for a track setup, unless you are running for $$$, I highly recommend a square setup unless you have camber plates. The outside edge of track tires takes a beating, and only being able to rotate left to right means you'll be replacing fronts often. For street, or if you don't like the fronts to stick out past the wheel wells, then go with a staggered setup. |

For a non square setup I would run et 22 for the fronts (18's obviously) |

I love the idea of running a square setup. I plan on adding coilovers/camber in the future, don't want to slam it or run excessive camber on the street to accommodate the aggressive fronts of a square setup. Thats why I am leaning towards a staggered setup. |

not sure I quite understand that as written. My car is bone stock.. my 18 x 10s are used for track and now with new tires, for driving on the street and track. Coilovers and camber will only help with fitting tires I would think... especially if the intention is NOT to drop it LOOOOOOWW.. |

I'm running 18x9.5 ET22 square. I need more traction at the rear, so I may look into upsizing to 295.
