Wheels width v Offset question
Hi,
If the recommended offset for a wheel is say 25, will the wheel width make any difference to where it sits against the arch? When deciding between an 8.5 or a 9.5" wheel both with an offset of 25 I have been told it makes no difference to the outside or arch profile, as the 1" comes off or is added on the inside. Is this correct? Or does it depend on wheel manufacturer or will any change in width with the same et see a corresponding adjustment to both the inside & outside? thanks |

That person was incorrect Asn. The inch wider wheel will stick out a half inch more on both sides.

I'm surprised at how few people understand offset and it's relation to width. I often find people mention offset but not width which is meaningless. Both numbers are needed to determine wheel fitment

They also think a spacer will fix anything.
