Some pics of my car as I was working on the hub. I’d recommend one of these OrionTech hub/bearing tool kits. They sell for only $66 on Amazon and made pushing the back half of the bearing out and the new one in a piece of cake.

I just did the swap a couple months ago. Got a similar press set to the post above mine. Was a fairly easy job.

I do have camber plates up front and had the alignment set up with negative camber in front and rear.

With this setup I am now able to run the Apex ARC-8 in 17x9 ET42 in a square setup with 255/40/17 RS4s. I put no spacers in rear and 3 mms in front and have no rubbing. No fender work has been done.

Hi Andrey _gta,

Thanks for keeping post going
I have been reading your post with interest,
I see you did a brake upgrade & no have no park brake.
I Have a 05/2010 125i Msport Auto coupe & have scored a set of BMW Performance calipers Front & Rear.
The fronts I am fine with,

The rears From reading your post If I change to 130 narrow hubs I should be able to run Park brake as well.
I was looking at 324mm Part No 6 778 649 disc's that is what was on the car they came off?, But unfortunately I was not able to be their when they took them off so I did not see if the hand brake was used?

So with reference to the below with changing hubs
If I put a 10mm spacer that will bring my wheels back out to where they are now.

Yes - this soon will be fixed with enlarged brake shoes

Nope - 130 used large handbrake. No clear path for 128i/125i guys to keep small shoes

Yes 10 mm,m would bring back to original spot.
324 typically use 185mm large handbrake

With the correct presses it is not too bad of a job. Couple hours per side if you don't run into any issues.

You can't change the offset in the front. Camber plates will bring the top of the wheels in to aid in fitment. Other than that you can have you fenders rolled to gain even more room.

Question

Hi Andrey _gta,

Have you fitted enlarged brake shoes yet? did you modify shoes?

I have been looking at part numbers of hand brake assembly's

A lot of the parts between 135 & 125/128 seem to be the same No.
01-- 34406760443 same on both
02-- 34416851439 same on both
07-- 34406851831 same on both
08-- 34211164044 same on both
09-- 07119904511 same on both

Do you think if it is possible to put 135 Supporting ring ( Backing plate) & shoes, springs on 125/128 to run the hand bake with 324mm disc.

Regards
Brett

Hi! I see you have a LCI 135i like me. What hubs did you use for this? Did you use the pre LCI or the LCI part number?

Not sure what the p/n is for the hubs I bought. Couldnt find my order. The Pre LCI and LCI 135s use the same stock hubs if that helps.

Anybody know of an OE rotor without slots/dimpled that will work for this conversion?

I am thinking of having a custom set of VS06 rims made for my car. Very similar to my 313's, but can be made wider. Problem is, they can't make an 18x9.5" rim with a high enough offset to match my EC7. With an additional 10mm, they can be made (ET +45)

Edit: just noticed this.

Its part number is 34216787931 , and it gets better because ZIMMERMAN made a copy as part # Zimmermann 150.3477.20
Guess that answers my question. Hopefully still available.

If anyone buys an aftermarket wheel, recommendation is to buy 5 of them.

Buy an extra of every size you use, an extra 2 if you're using them as winters. Learned my damn lesson.

I own an e90 325i and bought a full set of 135 calipers and have been reading thread on top of thread about this and is it safe to say that using these is still a dream at this point? If so I'll have the set up for sale soon for anyone interested.

Nope, the 135 brakes were an option on the E90, sold as Performance Brakes, so there should be an OEM rotor that will fit.

Yup you're right I did a lot of reading and could not find any info on making the rear calipers work as I have an e90 325i the rears just don't work without serious modifications. I created a post yesterday showing that with the help of RMP Motors here in Toronto found a bolt on solution which allowed me to use the entire kit and looks factory fit and allowed me to retain my handbrake. 👍

I wonder what combination of parts we would need to reduce the track by the 20mm, but also use the smaller 300x20 rotors to fit a 15" in the rear for drag rims.

Fascinating thread! Other than fabbing up custom parking brake shoes, is there a combination of parts that allows for a functioning handbrake on a 128i in combination with 135i rear calipers and 135i rear discs? I’m not as concerned with track width since I’ll be sticking with oem wheel for the time being.
