Will 245/40 18 rub in the rear with stock 264s and BMW Perf Susp?
So I am looking at running this setup on the stock 264s:
Car is lowered (modestly) with BMW performance suspension Front- Michelin PS2 235/40 18 Rear Michelin PS2 245/40 18 I know the front shouldn't be a problem, but I am worried about the rears rubbing- I have searched and it seems like some are running that setup in the rear and have rubbing and some don't, can someone that knows for sure chime in? thanks in advance

245's in the rear on the stock rims shouldn't rub... at all. The stock tire on the rear is 245. I was lowered on the stock setup as low as my KW V3's would go and it didn't rub, it was just too far away from the fender to possibly rub.

but are you on the 245/35 or 245/40- I am afraid the taller tire may rub

I think ideally you want the total diameter of the front and rear wheels to be as similar as possible.

I know of a 135i with 235/255 (Dunlop Star Specs which are one of the fattest street tires around) on stock wheels, lowered, with no rubbing at all.

yea, I'm not so much worried about width as height- the 245/40 is 25.7 inches tall vs the stock at 24.7 and I'm worried that whole inch will likely rub, no less throw off the speedo even more

I'm pretty sure you can run a 245/40R18 without rubbing on a stock suspension but only just. The fact that you are slightly lowered on the performace suspension leads me to think you will end up with some rubbing. I doubt it'll be much, maybe just during large dips and heavy load situations, but some nonetheless. Why don't you go with some 255/35 tires to be safe? There are ton of good choices in that size. The Star Specs will arguably provide more grip for a cheaper price than PS2s.

On my stock setup, when my speedo read 60, my GPS said 57ish. When I changed to 225/40 front and 255/35 rear (vs 215/40 and 245/35) my GPS read 59ish.
