Used BMW Mileage limit

What is the absolute limit of mileage on a used 135i?im looking into buying a Beamer for my first car and I really like this model. Any Info for a potential first time buyer would be great!

Well a used 135 could empty your wallet faster than you can eat lunch. You must find a friend who knows these cars well. Think about joining BMWCCA-they have chapters in Austin, Houston and Dallas.

If you like the E82 then buy a 128 for your first car.

Gonna piggyback on this most recent thread (apologies in advance).....

Considering a local '08 190k kms (supposedly mostly highway) 135 auto, two owner with sport package car - minimally gonna need front brakes and has a cylinder 3 misfire.

I'm happy to wrench, aware of the typical issues, BUT - are there other forecastable issues at this mileage/vintage to anticipate?

Looking solely because my wife has taken over my 128i

There is no absolute limit of any car. A car will run forever if you do the correct preventative maintenance and take care of it. A Beamer will just be 3x as expensive as anything else 😂

Well knowing the maintenance history would be hugely important. Turbos need clean oil. If no history, can you find out where car was maintained?
If spark plugs have never been changed, they could be a real bitch coming out.
At 190K kms, many problem areas should have likely been fixed. Look to see if any leakage from OFHG. Look to see no big mis-alignment of the serpentine belt [off 1/16 to 3/32nds not critical]. Look under oil fill cap; should be almost spotless.
Good Luck

From the current owner,

'Last major service on it was power motor for driver side, and a brand new rad and system flush less than a week ago. The oil was done 8,000 k ago. It was at bmw for 2 recalls 6 moths ago for recalls wiring harness and airbags

For the 3 years I have owned it yr 1 as a daily driver, last year was in garage for winter except for 4 times a month to take it out, this year parked in garbage for winter except for about 3 times a month just to take it out.
It was 99% woman driven ( my wife )'

I'll go look at it after work tomorrow....

Well....it's a bit of a conundrum. Comes with a complete set of new mounted winters and the staggered summers. Minimally needs a windshield, front brakes, ofhg, minor valve 'tick' and cylinder 3 misfire solved. No real service records for the past 45k kms, but the oil is full and it has a new radiator and upper rad hose. Drives shockingly well.....owner is asking $6k CAD....IT'S CHEAP, hence the conundrum - don't really NEED another car in the fleet.
