I love my 1M
I've had the pleasure of owning in excess of 100 cars, but I have never owned something so perfect as the 1M.
I simply can not fault it in anyway! - God I love this car! I was just sitting outside endulging in a cigarette and I still can't get over how aggressive it looks. I can honestly say this is a car that I will never part with. Roll on tomorrow, I can see a long drive on the horizon! Simon |

Your note makes me feel sad. I feel the same.
I've just made the decision to leave Chile to move to Mexico and can't take my dear M1. What to do? I'm a ship without a rudder...... |

Interesting. Mine seems to be sailing soon to meet me in Lisbon but there is still a month or so to change my mind and it may stay in Chile like yours.

The price that I ask (and stick with) for my 1M in Chile is very unlikely to atttract two and a half potential buyers around anyway. Because I don't want to part and want to sell it as it is to someone who knows what it is and would like to keep it or maybe continue building it. If one of these few people eventually knocks my door with a reasonably close offer to mine, in a month or so, that's when I finish my deal with the transport company then I'll let the 1M go, start the therapy and put an order for the F80 M3 to be delivered as our only car in my family during my stay in Lisbon (2 or 3 years max). I feel like this won't happen though (or shall I say I secretly hope that won't happen) and I'll enjoy it in Portugal like I did here. Just turned down someone who is selling his E60 M5 and wants to buy the 1M but his offer was too off (for me) at around 54,500 USD while I ask 67,000. I could start the real negotiation process if he would start with 60 for instance. No one should sell their 1M if they have a (physical/financial) chance to do so. It is very very unlikely that we will have another car like that, which makes us feel like children in a candy store or inside their tree house, F8X and M2 included I am afraid.

If he can be taken at his word, he currently has 3 bimmers. He also shows interesting combination of masochism (4 Spitfires!), practicality (3 TDI's) and panache (Lancia's). All reflect, no doubt, learning experiences that have brought him to realize, tho not perfect, bimmers come closest to combo of the latter 2, with a minimum of the first! 1M being, of course, the ultimate distillation...

While this is only one man's opinion, it's certainly a credible one! That is some lineup of driver's cars you've owned. Nice to hear what we all already feel is true...1M is best!!!

I still have three BMW's (1M, 330i, and 535d) and a Hilux apart from that the rest have been sold. The Lancias are stunning cars, and I will buy another one day. We currently do not have a garage and its the kind of car that needs to be kept dry, they tend to rust! Reliability wise if you get a good one and keep on top of it then they are fine, certain parts are rare and expensive but there are a number of good suppliers in the UK. If you need any in depth information or advice on Lancias then PM me and I will do my best to help - I know a fair bit about them, Simon |

Learning experiences some of them have been and there is probably only 5 I wish I had never sold being the Lancia, sierra cosworth, e34 Alpina, merc cosworth, and e46 M3. However, all these cars are now irrelevant as the 1M supersedes them all! |
