Thanks for all the questions. If you call and we don't pick up, we're probably on the other line with a customer. Leave a number and we'll get back to you ASAP.

We have tons of rear wheels, but E36/E46/E90/Z4 owners have been taking up most of the front 8.5" wheels. Now's the time to grab these if you don't want to wait on a set.

We have additional inventory arriving in November so we may be able to host a mini groupbuy shortly using current inventory, specifically for the 1 series fitment if there is enough interest

We do not offer custom colors directly from us as these were aimed to be an affordable way to get a light weight wheel.
Vendors like VAC Motorsport do offer custom wheel painting services for the ARC-8 wheel using a very high-end/professional shop. |

I know that these wheels are intended for track/autocross use thanks to their lightweight formation, but as a result of this will I have any problems running these as wheels for my car since it is also my daily driver. I love the mesh design and think these would be an upgrade both performance wise, but also cosmetically compared to the Kyowas I am running. I'm just tired of polishing the rim and cleaning it so much. I know the ARC-8s won't be that much different, but they seem to be of a much higher quality and are 1 series specific where 225/255 is sort of pushing my tire real estate even on stock suspension.

I have a question in regards to the finish of the wheel. Is the finish worse, equal to, or better than OEM? I love how effortless it is to clean the stock wheels without even using wheel cleaner and I am curious if the paint finish is similar throughout the range of color choices available. I saw these wheels this past weekend on an E36 M3 coupe and fell in love immediately now that I was able to see the wheel in person. I want to buy these wheels, but I want to make sure they aren't as fussy to clean as my slightly cheaper (though more inferior) Kyowa wheels. Also is there any chance Apex would make a 5 point wheel similar to AC Schnitzer Type IIIs or 6 point wheel similar to Volk/RAYS TE-37, but with 1er offsets and the ability to fit more tire? I am very pleased with mesh design, not to crazy about the new Aero-7 (though it isn't bad either). PS-Can anyone running these wheels give me your opinion on ease of removing brake dust from these wheels? I am just a bit sour from the experience had with my current Kyowas, though the Apex's are in a league of their own.

I never use wheel cleaner to clean my wheels even after I go through an entire set of pads on a track weekend. I have no way of saying if the wheel finish is equal to or better then OEM for the purposes of cleaning. I know the hyper silver finish is a much higher quality finish then the factory paint, and the wheels have very minimal orange peal in the finish compared to other wheels I've seen. FYI, It's not recommended to use harsh chemical on wheels anyway, so be sure to buy the right product if you do like to use wheel specific cleaners (I just have a dedicated wheel mitten). Putting a coat of wheel wax on also makes the extra easy to clean. Be aware that 18x8.5" et38 will not allow for more rubber then you already run if your car is totally stock. You need negative camber to fit more rubber up front. |

I can't decide on whether I want hyper silver or hyper black. Is there a way you could take a photo of them side by side from the face of the wheel and at an angle? Any news yet on the higher offset version of the 8.5" wheel? How much rubber will we be able to fit stock with the new offset? I am running Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs and they run pretty wide though I have a ET38 8" wheel and 225 size tire up front with no rubbing issues, just the 9" rears because they are only ET45 with a 255 size tire. Most likely will be getting the 5000 series AST suspension in the next few months with the Vorshlag camber plates to fit a little bit more up front.

The higher offset version does not exist yet. 2d CAD drawings are complete but production has not started, as it will be part of a batch of about 2000 other wheels. On stock cars we expect to fit a 235/40/18 but that will be verified. We can definitely help you out with the AST's. Depending on what you're trying to fit, the 5000 series may not work for you due it's lower spring perch to tire clearance vs. the 4000 series. This could be discussed in detail on the phone. |
