Winter tires

Been running Dunlop RFT the last couple Winters in northern NJ no problem. I avoid the snow, but did have to drive in it a few times. No issues. Time for new tires and having trouble deciding between just getting new dunlop RFT, other summer non-RFT, or Michelin PS AS/3 all sports.

This is for a 135i that i daily to work between Jersey City and Hackensack.

Thoughts?

The "3" in A/S3 stands for a three season tire, not a winter tire. They are terrible in any kind of snow.

I run Pilot Alpins (snow tire) in winter and will be getting a new set of PS4s for the summer. Get high performance tires (not run flats) for each season.

Costco had $150 off a set of four Michelin tires so I went with 215/40/18 and 245/35/18 Pilot Sport A/S 3s. Coming off Dunlop Summer RFTs that were getting very low on tread, Therese things are amazing. I was (intentionally) drifting corners before, now getting much better traction. I avoid driving in heavy snow, so just needed something safe for those occasions where I'm out and snow starts to fall.

Also, others have recommended sizing up on tires, but I find these look perfect... Anything wider would look too chunky.

Hope this helps others like me searching.

Another case of asking for help and informed advice and then ignoring the recommendation. Lol.

Well done, sir.
