Looks great!
We had rain all day up north.
Normally that might be a complaint, but we needed, needed, Needed it.

Sad and good day.

Took me 40-50 minutes to remove all the things associated with the rear subframe. Got to the bushings, the tool the shop had was too small. We spent 30+ minutes looking for an alternative, sadly no go. Even considered dropping the whole subframe and using the press machine, even that was too small.

Reassembled everything, used new bolts for the tension arm (the ones that require 47 nm + 90 degrees torque angle) and re-used all other old bolts. I will contact a shop tomorrow, see if they can do the RSFB, if they can, then i will let them do the bushings, sway bar, end links, front M3 arms, sway bar and all new bolts + alignment. If not, i will order a tool i found on amazon and go in again next week.

The good, installed the M Performance exhaust, fun with cutting metal. Mine came with a valve actuator, i connected it just to keep everything "stock". Sounds a lot quieter than stock, much less drone, but i was a bit nervous about the rear end of the car, since we did lower the rear subframe, despite not doing anything and just bolting it back. I drove it "easy" incase anything in the back is off (such as alignment) it felt fine but no point risking it.

Also installed M Performance black kidney grills, really suits Aplin White IMO.

Took off the drivers side door card and this time plugged the speaker wire to the correct socket on the speaker (lower one).

Also got the airbag light sorted so the interior swap is all good!

Was able to get that expensive bushing tool on loan for a week, which is great news because i have the car booked at the DIY on Tuesday and either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning the car goes for alignment.

Renting that tool costed me €100, including shipping both ways for one week, good deal.

Always painful getting something all apart and then finding out you don't have the right tools to finish the job!!

I know, i remember replacing the cylinder head gasket on my 944 turbo, i purchased a gasket "kit" which was missing some smaller gaskets and o-rings.

Had to order them and just left the car as it is for a week till parts arrived.

Garage List
My car is in the garage with PBlaster soaking on the A/C pulley. Tomorrow I'm going to pull it apart and replace the bearing, and hopefully fix a whine the car has been making, and driving me crazy with, since I bought it. I pulled the belt off and ran it for a couple seconds and the whine wasn't there, so that narrows it down to the alternator, A/C pulley, and PS pump (very helpful...). I'll do some more checking before I really get down in there and risk breaking things that currently work...

EDIT: New prognosis: Positive Crankcase Vent Valve failure. Explains hard-to-open oil cap, whining sound, copious amount of oil in intake, (possibly) top-end power issues. Ran it for a few minutes with the belt back on, then with the belt off, and there was extremely little change. Then, I opened the oil cap while the engine was running, and the noise quickly went away.

This could sway my X-Mas ideas for the car for "while I'm in there" reasons...N/A guys could probably figure it out from there

FWIW I would try the cheapo eBay PCV cap before replacing the valve cover. I replaced mine, it took about 15 minutes to do it, and it's running fine. If it doesn't run fine, you can replace the valve cover later and you're out $20.

Ordered some custom roundels today in full gloss black with embossed sections. I'm going to put matte black on some parts to break it up a little. This was my "I need to buy something right now" purchase before ordering my air ride. Which will happen either this week or next.

Still trying to decide on wheels. Once I do I'll put the money down to start those and begin piecing together the 1M stuff.

I'm excited to really start on this thing

Finally figured out why the front 128 msport bumper looks different from the 135. Took a little digging, but figured out the subtle differences between the 128 msport and the 135. The 135 has the head light washers and no fog lights. The 128 has no head light washers, but has the fog lights. Have to admit I use the fog lights all the time to give me a little more light directly in front of the car.

The 135 in white and the 128 in blue...

Beautiful, as usual. 11 Days 'til your M2 Comp is delivered, IIRC. I imagine you are just giddy...

May I suggest some lower-dust brake pads for the 135i? Those wheels are gross...
