130i badge on tuned 125i?

In europe there is a version of the E82/E88 labeled 125i, it has the exact same engine as an 130i but is limited with the software to 218 HP instead of 265 HP.

In a couple of weeks i will get my 125i retuned with 130i software and then we will add a chip tune, adding 7 more HP and the end result will be 272 HP.

Since i wan't black letters instead i'm also thinking of rebadging it to 130i

Yay or nay?

I'd just debadge it at that point.

This.

Plus, the tune isn't the only thing different I believe.

Yup, leave it or debadge it.

Just opinions of course, do what you want.

I did the 130i tune on my 125i, still says 125i. i will prob debadge it for a better cleaner look. no badges over a re-badge.

Ya debadge it. Would look super clean IMO. Plus don’t want to be rolling a DX with Type R badges like the kids hahaha

Just kidding!

Don't listen to these nay-sayers Fredrik. I say, skip the 130i badge and go straight to the ///M badge!

Seriously though, I agree with the others. You can be proud of what you have - or debadge to keep them guessing. I always thought it was kind of cool to have more under the hood than was advertised on the trunk. Surprise some people.

de-badge and keep them guessing. Try and get a BMW performance exhaust [BMW PE] or get some exhaust modification to get the "sound". Every time I start my car, the "sound" is intoxicating. Now also, do you have better tires?

Agree with everyone else. Either be the best 125i out there and wear it with honor , or just take all the badges off and be a ninja.

Hello,

I would do "WHATEVER" you feel comfortable with.

Do not let "ANYONE" I repeat "ANYONE" tell you how to adorn or not your car. Your hard earned money no-one else. De-badge, 130, 125 or M what EVER, certainly take a straw poll to for kicks to see what people think.

Your car , your money...

Since you're asking for opinions, I say debadge. Give them the "sleeper" look. Besides, it's a BMW, known to be subtle and understated, with a touch of class. At least that's how they used to be.
