3rd outlet in charge pipe.

My 2008-135i-N54 still has the plastic Charge pipe,which I understand give problems.I was going to upgrade to a metal pipe before I added boost or any power upgrade.Problem is none of the pipes I see has a large outlet between the stock diverters.It is about a 1 1/2 in hose tied in and goes to back of engine.do I just deal this off.Thanks in advance for advice.

I think you may be referring to the sound generator. It's a tube connected to the CP between the DVs.

Aftermarket CP won't have or need this piece.

Thanks,I have seen a blank on some PCs at this location.2 more dumb question while I am at it.1-what is DVs?_2 do I just cap it off?..Thanks again for help.Also thinking about a new CP with BOV and do away with factory diverters,just looks like cleaner air flow..Your input is Appreciated..Great Forum.

DVs = diverter valves.

You can go with a CP that uses stock or aftermarket DVs, or get one that uses a BOV. Tial Q seems to be the most popular BOV on the forum, but you can use HKS, Turbosmart, etc. Watch videos and pick one that sounds best to you!

With a CP and BOV, you'll cap off the 2 holes that the stock DV hoses go back to, easy install. Check the DIY section or search for YouTube CP installs. Good luck!
