YO! What are guys doing nowadays for a ROLL CAGE?
Back from the land of the lost -- Just checking in to see what/who you maniacs are currently using in regards to roll cages these days. Been sporadically trying to buy an old BRracing Bar/Harness Bar. I sold mine once I shelfed the car a few years ago.
I'm looking for a complete bolt on solution just like the BR. Anyway, let me know what you guys are doing...post some pics if possible. |

If you are speaking of a rollbar and not an actual rollcage, Autopower now makes one for the one series. We have one in my wife's 135i hillclimb/TT car, fits very well and passes SCCA Level 4 (hillclimb) tech.
Was having a very hard time finding one when I was prepping the car for her and was going to have a guy build one (the ones I see on the market wouldn't pass tech IMO), they came out with one around March of last year. |

ilikebmxbikes > Whats up brother! Good to see you're still around. I can get one built, no issues. Got a good stable of fabricators in my corner, but I'm just looking for something OTC that I can bolt-on myself at the shop. Been away for a while, I remember you last getting the M3...how's that coming along? What other rides you into these days?

I put the 4.6L v8 in the original v8 car and I got a second 135i which I am making into a rallycross car. |

Bumping this thread, I'm looking at a half cage from Autopower, specifically the bolt in 'Race Roll Bar'. Does anyone know what a shop would charge to install this? I called Autopower directly and they said a decent shop would charge $600. I live on the east coast so would be doing it at a shop local to me, just want to hear what some other people have paid before I go asking around. Thanks!
If you have any other suggestions for a bar, let me know. I'd like to spend max of $2k total on this. I called BR racing the other day and they said they no longer make or have the jigs for the cage, and do not plan on bringing it back. |
