HELP, getting new car!
Hey, I'm a 18 year old, and my wealthy grandparents are very generously agreeing to buy me a car. Of course I'm getting a BMW...
I've narrowed it down to the following 2 cars. Bmw 128i Sport package, Premium package, Sound package orrr a used 2010 328i coup, with Nav, Sport, auto with paddles, 4k Km's (sorry im from canada, i do not know how many miles that is) What do you guys think? |

It shows you already have 3 cars. You need another one? lol
Joking aside...you're probably better off getting the 3er.

128 is more fun than a 328. Get the 128 with 6Mt and you'll be set

and the 2011 328s are face lifted with new tail lights and head lights and bumpers/mirrors so getting a 2010 you won't the getting the newest stuff. that being said its still a great looking car. why not get the same 128 you're suggesting but with msport instead of sport. that way youll get the 135i front bumper (with the nice fog lights ) and the 135 rear bumper. it isn't too much more. to be honest if you don't need a car RIGHT this minute, why not look into ordering one? I wish i did....

I live in Canada, and my local dealership has a total of 2, 128i's.... I am personally dishing out my money for the sports and sound package, and my grandparents are paying for the rest....
I don't think Canadian dealerships offer, 128i's with m sport package unless it is a special order.... |

Get the 128 cus I have had the 328 in a ton of colors as a loaner and they were a bore to drive...

Good post 2 above.
Basically the 3 series you'll want if you have kids, and want a solid, reliable resale value. Go with the 1er if you're looking for a bit of fun, GREAT looks and with the 128 you won't be disappointed. I have a 128 (125i here in Oz) and have loved every second of it. Had it for a year on Saturday. |

Why do people do this? You need perfect strangers to make a completely subjective choice for you? Are you incapable of forming an opinion on your own? It's not like you're asking for technical expertise or anything.

Hey don't listen to the haters. We've just had a string of my dad drives an F430 and I'm awesome because of it punks.
I was 17 when I got my 135 and I'm 19 now. It's a much better car for me as a young guy than a 3. I've had a few 3 series loaners and they just fell to old and business like. It's funny though because my dad was the exact opposite of yours. I was trying to be conservative and get a lightly optioned 128 and then he was wait the 135 comes standard with a bunch of 128 options right? So then why not get the fast one? But seriously get used to the hate because you'll have a lot of it driving a new bimmer Last edited by BrokenVert; 08-03-2010 at 12:04 PM.. |
