Prof Detailers, 'Can Carbon Fiber Crack be fixed?'
Any thoughts guys on how one may fix a cracked spoiler? Looks like the laminate is cracked.

Typically not.. you'll have to paint it and lose the carbon fiber look to fix it

buy some black paint fill in the crack and then put a thin layer of resin over it. The paint will "cover" the crack and the resin will seal it. That's the best thing I can think of.

poor guy probably bought it from fibreoptix... I'd love to see pictures of the part, it might provide some additional information on how to fix it?

It can be fixed, but you will have to paint the spoiler because the CF weave will never look right again. I have had friends crack CF hoods and that's the way that theirs went...

Here you go guys, sorry for taking so long. Any Ideas would be awesome. I took the part to a car panel repair shop and the guy said it was not possible. Not sure if he was even interested in doing it though, didn't seem like it. I even asked if it could be painted over and he immediately dismissed the idea. |
