1M Winter setup
Just ordered some Alufelgen SF-71 for the 1M winter setup.
Front: 19x8.5 ET35 245/35/19 Pirelli Sotto Zero Rear: 19x9.5 ET 20 265/35/19 Pirelli Sotto Zero I was searching through various threads on offsets options and how aggressive you can run, i'm now debating whether i should have gone 19x8.5 ET 15 upfront as this should work as well, no? My question is more on aesthetics rather than function. I know square setup would have been more ideal, however I was running oem 313 performance rims last winter but the offsets were hideous and had to run spacers front/rear which i wanted to avoid. I needed to replace the rims since i had the tires already, my question is whether 19x8.5 et15 would have been a better choice aesthetically vs 19x8.5 et35.

I'm running a square set-up 18x8.5 VMR V10's with 245/40R18 Blizzak LM-60's and I was very happy with dry, snow and ice performance last winter.

I'm still not sure why one couldn't fit the stock wheels with winter tires... We get ice and mild snow here (Midwest US). The car won't see much, if any of it since I have a commuter, so I'm mainly looking for light duty winter. Is there anything wrong with the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's, 245/35-19 and 265/35-19?

A/S will not work well in snow/ice in stock sizes, I'd still recommend a high performance winter instead of A/S, especially in the Midwest. IMHO I'd rather spend $$ for winters (probably less than the Pilot Sport A/S's) and have the added traction. A square set up is always preferred for winters, they also will allow for rotation front/back with a square setup.
