Yup looks like a 1addicts sticker and a not so great neighborhood unfortunately. Hope it was just stock wheels and not forged aftermarket.

Looks like a nasty problem to have, not only wheels gone, but body damage as well.
Time for Insurance Man to the rescue........

Truth is wheel locks only deter the casual thief but anyone determined with a bag of sockets can get the job done.

Not if every single lug nut is a different manufacture wheel lock. 5 different wheel locks with all their own keys made by 5 different people.

Locks work because they slow down the theft process and make it harder to do unnoticed. Nothing is 100% effective. |

My "don't drive to crap areas" technique seems to be working fine.

Happens all the time in my area and it's not some shady neighborhood either.
Typically thieves go for brand new cars (literary few days old). In my area it's mostly Maximas or G37s. You can buy your wheels with tires on eBay the next day. They rarely go for aftermarket or staggered set ups, must have been a special order. |

Damn, that's even worse than when I saw someone get their Challenger's wheels stolen and it was left on just two cinder blocks in the middle of the car.

At that point you should really start to question whether it's worth the trouble if you spend 24/7 sitting next to your car with a gun. If it works for you, that's great but it's not a option for people with jobs and who sleep from time to time.

Happens pretty frequently in a town nearby. Stock Honda alloys seem to be pretty popular. The amazing thing is it always occurs in the middle of the night when folks are home and they hit a whole neighborhood.
A friend of mine had two set of stock Honda alloys stolen a couple months apart (no garage). The factory locks are not a deterrent to these pros, but I don't understand how they can hammer a socket over the top and not wake anyone up. They must have a quiet way of doing this. |

I have these on my vette. One lock for each nut. Slows them down, and they go elsewhere. I guess they make them for a BMW but mine just has the one lock per wheel. But the BMW has the motion sensor that the vette doesn't so feel I'm protected as the car is right outside my townhouse.
