Experience with ECS Tuning?
www.ecstuning.com Requesting information about a specific brand sold on the site named Original Equipment Supplier. I called ECS Tuning today, and I was informed that OES is a German company, which is based out of Germany, that supplies Original Equipment (OE) parts for the German automotive brands. I was told 'such as' Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. The reason for my inquiry: I have not conducted any business with either ECS Tuning or Original Equipment Supplier. I am interested in learning more about a specific product. The rear brake rotors for my 2008 E82 128i Coupe. ECS Tuning is selling OES rear brake rotors for $149.95 per pair. They are on sale for $9.95 per pair. Yes. 93% off of the original price. My concerns: Is ECS Tuning a legitimate company? Is OES a legitimate company? Does anyone have experience purchasing products from ECS Tuning? Does anyone have experience purchasing products from OES? Reliability issues? Quality issues? Trying to determine if this could just be a possible overstock issue; that these are legitimate, quality parts purchased in bulk and are being offered at a great priced deal, or if this is a company not worth buying from or a product not worth buying, providing more than justifiable reasoning for the extremely low 'sale' price. Your time and assistance is greatly appreciated with this matter. Thank you |

ECS is probably among the biggest european parts distributors online... lol They are for sure legit.
I remember I bought a pair of rear BMW rotors for 49$, BMW brand too! They have these crazy sales every now and then. I would take advantage of that price! |

The flip side: I think for safety critical equipment the concern is not only if this is some sort of scam, but whether the parts may be of low quality. |

I had a VW before the BMW and I was on a first name basis with them. Fast, easy (too easy) to use and they know their shit. The best part are the Videos about installing parts. I learn how and little tricks to make the installs easier. I think I built the east wing with the money I spent there! For that matter, still spending.....

I've had nothing but positive experiences with ECS too.

I linked these to a friend the other day as a joke for context.
I'm staggered by the number of you who are willing to strap $10 brakes to your $30k+ cars and assume all will be well. At that price they are nothing but Chinese junk. The braking quality will be equivalent to dragging your foot out of the door. At this point, with all the Chinese quality out there, I am instantly suspicious of anything that is cheap.

I ordered those brake rotors.
They are BMW OEM Rotors. Verified by a BMW Technician. Yes, a very experienced one. |
