Another UK newbie
Hello guys and gals.
First post for me. I've had my 1M for a few months now and have visited this forum a fair few times, so I thought it best to join up and say hello. With the car being so rare I've picked up on some good info on here so thanks to those people that have shared the knowledge. My previous car was a Focus Mk2 RS, tweaked a couple of times by Mountune to take it to 375bhp and 500NM. I have been heavily involved a cracking owners club for that marque - FocusRSOC.com - and still have the odd run out with some good friends I've made on there. The 1M was really the only other car within reach that tempted me out of the RS so at the second attempt I managed to secure this little beauty. Pretty much loaded with one previous M fan owner, low miles and service pack. I've made my mind up to not tweak this one performance wise, although I've added a few cosmetic tweaks just to make it my own. So far I've changed all interior lighting to LED, changed the indicators front and rear to diadem bulbs to replace the fried eggs with a blue tinge, changed the halo ring bulbs to a slightly whiter version, and upgraded the front grill to black. I've also chased down the 'one of 450' plaque from BMW. I've also spent some Christmas cash on the limited edition pukka T Shirt from M. Next on the wish list is probably the carbon boot spoiler, and I'd love to source some carbon tips for the standard exhaust if possible. Maintenance wise I've just had the brake fluid service done as part of the maintenance plan, and also took the opportunity to change the oil at the same time. A couple of pics for you, hopefully I've uploaded them correctly. I'm based in Lincolnshire and have yet to see another on the road. That's it for now, catch you later. Very nice, welcome! Deciding to enjoy the car as standard is a good decision. Nice list of cosmetic mods done so far. Carbon exhaust tips would look great. Where do you buy the interior led lights from?

Thanks for the welcomes guys.
jan9, I did go with blue interior LED's I rescued from the RS initially, but then decided to go for the crisp white look and got the genuine BMW pack. Example here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Genuin...E:L:OC:GB:3160 Expensive but I had a haggle on the price and once you've done footwells, interiors and maps this pack will leave you two spare. For the glovebox I bought: http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/ph...-festoon-6000k And for the boot/vanity mirrors, 3 of these http://www.powerbulbs.com/product/xt...oon-6000k-43mm There are of course cheaper alternatives but I've been messing around with LED's for a few years now and I just wanted a fit and forget solution. Hope this helps. |
