It would be quite nice if the M1 was the first release of the LCI as well perhaps with reformed headlights etc.

I don't really care what it's called either as I'll probably debadge it shortly after bringing it home anyways.

We are currently shooting the BMW 1 Concept M on the volcanic island of Lanzarotte along with the new 6er.

The location is quite familiar within BMW as the E63 6er was shot here , as was the M3 and X6 and of course the BMW 135i.
We cannot get to LA until later this summer until some giant Robots finish their war in Chicago, so we can use sophisticated gyro cameras that track fast movement and high speed.

The new AutoBild has an exclusive feature on the BMW 1 Concept M in the latest issue along with a drive on the M3 GTS.

Take away "Concept" for the reveal.

OP, Serious? You realize you are sounding like Veruca Salt. I want an Oompa Loompa noooooow, Daddy.

I hate the term badge whore, but I have to ask this question.

If you stick two identical cars next to each other, where one has an ///M1 on the back, and the other has 1///M, and I told you you had to take the 1///M or nothing, you'd seriously pass?

If you answer that question with the affirmative, I'm glad you wouldn't be driving one.

So, the official name is BMW 1 series M Coupe - with a signature of 1///M.

Good enough for me

The propaganda as to why it wont be called M1 and why it wont be an M car is starting. Rumours of 350-370 hp are being replaced by 335 levels. I am getting concerned that this is an tarted 135is. How very sad.

The reason existed some 30 years ago. The M1 has come and gone, BMW has reserved the name, ie as in retired it.

Most of us who were around at that time remember that car, and like me, are happy BMW has decided to not re-use it.

To think it is any reason otherwise, is not accurate.
