N55 Engine fluttering

Strange thing happened on Saturday. I wanted to go to Livermore so I got on 120 to 205 from manteca. As it happens there is construction going on and I hit slight gradation on the road. As soon as that happened I got a check engine light and reduced power. It felt like it was missfiing and engine fluttering.
I decided to turn back from Tracy at low speeds the car would turn off so I drove in 3 to 4 gear. kept rpm around 2000 to 3000 and made it home. Now interestingly my driveway is a bit higher from road level so thinking it might not make it I went a bit faster so it hit driveway a Lil hard.
I turned the car off and then on again, lo and behold it acted as nothing had happened. I took it my shop, had it scanned and no codes. So seemingly the slight bumps that caused it malfunction also fixed the problem. I would appreciate any feedback.

Any ideas what happened?

Any mods?

Sounds like it could be the chargepipe or a bad MAF/MAP sensor...

What did they scan it with? There should have been a code if you had a CEL and limp mode.

Could be a number of things, kind of hard to tell with this info. I'd suggest taking it for a spin near your house and try to recreate the issue.

I am the second owner. Only thing I see is lowered suspension.

So the issues hasn't come back up? Next time it happens send me a message, I'm here in San Jose too. I'm not a mechanic but I've dealt with a few various issues on my car the last 6 years of ownership.

Sometimes a Vanos needing cleaning can do this, Check youtube for instructions, if you are handy with a wrench and have a can of brake cleaner you can service these yourself. There are two of them.

Maybe cracked valve cover. You can remove intake and plastic trim to get a better look.
