Latest HPFP Repair Estimates

Yes, I know there's a maintenance section. It be mostly ded. RIP. 😂

Have a 71K mile '08 model that responds to demands for fuel by dropping dead. Again, RIP. 😭

Dealer estimate (Not itemized of course) for replacement is $1935. 😳

Some of that is the "Charlotte BMW Tax" that we pay here. Despite having a metro of 2.5 million and now having more people than San Francisco, we have exactly ONE BMW dealer that famously charges above BMWNA MSRP for parts and $200/hr for labor. This of course inflates what indy shops can charge, and they take advantage. The shops that will even quote me out over the phone estimate $1500 give or take.

I've also read that the price of the HPFP itself has shot up in recent months into the $800 range.

Anybody had a HPFP repair done this year? Just curious if fixing these things has shot up in price relative to earlier times. And no, moving isn't an option at the moment. 😂 Any help is appreciated!

Looks like $935 for the HPFP and 4.7 hours of labor for the installation and coding.

Almost 2 grand. Wish I could wrench. Sigh...

Just did mine myself. ~950 for the pump kit from FCP Euro but you get 75 back for the core.

It's not an especially difficult job and you don't need any special tools really. You can get it done without removing the manifold even, if you wish.

Look for a decent independent shop.

I bought a brand new HPFP from dealership last year for $761 before tax. I would find an Indy or consider attempting the job yourself. I did the job once on the side of the highway on my old 335i just taking off the charge pipe and throttle body. Good times.
