Bmw 128i confort access won't work.

I bought my 2008 bmw 128i in September and its been lots of fun. but I did notice when I bought the car that the confort access doo handle one the driver side didn't work but everything else Did (start with out key fob in slot) until today when everything else stops working. Now the car won't even recognize the key out side the car unless it's in the slot. I don't know if it's a fuse, the handle it's self, the go model or anything like that what should it do?

I had water leak into the Comfort Access module in the trunk (passenger side, below the trunk lining, cargo net compartment. But for me the whole thing wasn't working.

Could be you have one of the comfort access antennas not working possibly or the sensor in the door not working? Tough to say..

Assuming you've replaced the battery in the key, often erratic comfort-access performance is a precursor to car battery failure. These cars are very sensitive to low voltage. If you can, check the battery voltage before you start the car and see how far above 12v it is. This was the cause of comfort-access behavior on my 8-year-old battery in my 2013 128i and the cause of an "AWD Inoperative" warning on my wife's '07 E90. Both have been fine since replacing batteries.

So battery has been replaced both key and car so that's not the issue. I changed the #61 5a fuse and it was burnt everything works now besides the driver side handl

Me too now

Life is ironic. Just a year after I made this post my key fobs stopped opening and closing my doors and trunk. Can start the car once its in the ignition.

Replaced fuse #61 because it was blown and the new one blew right away.

What next? Replace the comfort access module as described in this thread?
Part number, and does it need any coding anyone? Hope its not a complex procedure...

Hm if another fuse blew right away there's a short somewhere...maybe due to water leak, maybe worn insulation...not sure how easy to proceed/debug but man, that's gonna be annoying.

The attached shows what fuse 61 supplies. Shouldn't be too hard to troubleshoot those three items.
