Require tune?
Hi guys!
I just purchased a new-to-me 2012 BMW 135i MT in Alpine White. My previous cars have been Subaru STI, Audi S5 V8, Miata and my other car B7 Audi A4 Avant MT. But as you can tell, I am new to BMW... So far, I love the rear wheel drive, and the power of this pocket rocket and I wanted to hear more from the engine, etc. My Audi S5 had a custom exhaust that was amazing... But to the question: I just purchased a BMS N55 CAI and wanted to know if like my STI, will a require a "tune" in order to use it? If you even looked at a mod on the STI, you needed a tune. Is it the same with the N55 for bolt ons? Thanks and great community. Orpo |

If you get downpipes or a FMIC, then you'd benefit from a tune that takes those mods into account - ie Cobb stage 1/2 + FMIC.

Thanks for the info.
So far this car is so much fun. Completely different from my S5. The S5 is more like a GT car and the 135i is more like FUN |

Nope, unlike Subaru, these cars are smart enough to compensate for basic modifications. That said, a tune is highly recommended, it really wakes these cars up!

Ive asked in the Cobb section, but does Cobb make an AP for the 2012 135i N55? Or is my only choice a jb4 or pro tune? |

You will need to check with Cobb if your car is supported ( they need your VIN number).
