Can't seem to unlock glove box

So I took my car in for service and they locked my glove box for me and now I don't know how to unlock it and open it?..... I mean its supposed to be stick in the key and turn right? Or am I missing something??????

Then try the on-line manual. Isn't there a thread here somewhere to a pdf copy? Owner's Circle also has a copy if I'm not mistaken.

For what it's worth. I just locked mine....Key hole in the horizontal position....then unlocked it....Key hole in the vertical position.
When locked the latch moves but does nothing....when unlocked the latch opens the box.

hmm ok i will try again.... what the heck.. and the manual is no help at all... It tells me to refer to page 18 but theres nothing...

You're right about the manual - it puts you into a loop between two pages without helping at all!

It does lock and unlock with the key as TP135i described. But I noticed that mine needed a bit more force to open the first time after it had been unlocked - that is the handle seems to have more resistance to overcome. But not enough that it would break!

Mine has never locked and am still waiting for the replacement door. I've been very, very patient with them, but soon I go on warpath.

mine does the same thing, it doesn't unlock when i pull the handle sometimes

ok finally got it opened on my 6th try... looked like a retard.. I had to use two hands believe it or not...... what the heck??? bmw preventing thieves by implementing a new glove box handle now???
