Auto lock doors if forgotten?

Hey is there a setting for BMWs where the locks can automatically look if you forget to lock it? Lexus has this option so I was wondering...

Yes, when driving off - see your owner's manual, page 23 (page 33 for iDrive).

Yeah if you park and forget to lock your car though it doesnt. now if you unlock and never open a door you can have it relock.

I was kinda upset, I called BMW Assist one time because I was running late for a flight, parked and wasnt sure if I locked so I gave them a call. They had no way to tell if the car was locked or not and could not send a lock command, only an unlock command.

You mean lock it while driving? or lock it when you walk away from your car?
I think our cars won't do the later one.

Do you mean as it times out it will automatically lock itself?

I remember I had such option in Lexus. Actually I hated it, since I park car in garage and prefer to remain it unlocked.

No it wont, and shuldnt.
Imo it works perfect the way it is. Som auto lock would only annoy me i think. Also that had to be in combination with Comfort Access to keep the car from autolocking with the keys in the car.

I believe that's because you opened a door when you got out of the car. As I read it, you can't have what you want (locking after parking) unless you crawl out of a window, which allows access to the car anyway!
