Wow!... That's pretty serious. What evidence do you have? TM

Personal experience.
The two times I've ever cheaped out and bought Costco gas (one time it was RaceTrac), I've had long cranks, jerky acceleration, and ultimately had to replace my fuel pump. The dealer claimed that I used shitty gas, which makes it more than coincidental that it happened at the same time as my using costco.

Maybe... but, with all due and genuine respect, that doesn't really pin it down because you only used one Costco gas station, and the other was RaceTrac. If the dealer said there was evidence of bad gas, it could have been that station itself, but not necessarily the entire fuel chain... or it could have even been a station you least suspected... or even none of those at all... especially since the engine is already highly susceptible to problems with the HPFP anyway. Heck, my HPFP failed right after I got my car, and I didn't even use any shitty gas that I knew of. And... if there was a strong and genuine link to HPFP failure and Costco gas, there would be others here reporting the same thing, and a clear pattern and trail of evidence would emerge. So... I guess I'm just not convinced at this point. TM

I have never had an issue with COSTCO gas. If I am there and I need gas I fill up. I also will fill up at Shell....but no Venezualian Chavez Oil for me. I also try to stay away from Mobil, and I never fill up if I see the truck there filling the tanks.
COSTCO runs great in my E55, X5 and it will go into the 135, which btw is scheduled to arrive tomorrow in SC. |

Lucky man. Must be the stations in my area, as TagMan pointed out.

I do costco gas if I am shopping there but normally I fill up at Shell. My fuel pump did fail. There's no proof that Costco gas caused it, nonetheless BMW Loyalist may have some correlation there with his experience.
