You have no idea how much I'm not looking forward to putting holes for hood pins into this hood. It's really hard to photograph because it's got a thick clear coat over the CF making it ridiculously shiny.

It's glass-like appearance means I just can't shake the fear that it'll crack when I push a drill bit through it.

Funny I just bought a M3 steering wheel a week ago. Haven't installed it yet, but now I'm contemplating sending it off to get wrapped in alcantara because of this... (either just the sides or the whole thing, not sure yet).

Getting the glovebox to drop was surprisingly difficult: the right-side spring clip did not have enough flex, and the glovebox has virtually no side-to-side play. I took out 1/2" more plastic on each side of the clip's plastic base to give it more flex. Still hard to open, but maybe less likely to break in a January rain on the side of the road trying to get at the fuse box. Getting its little shock to pop out was hard too: the inside edge of the pin catches on the glovebox body, almost like the pin is 1/2mm too wide. Didn't try to fix that.

Nicked the convertible top on the awning, as I'd re-parked to work on the car to work on the glovebox area. Tore a little hole in the fabric, and scuffed the butyl front-edge seal. Wife had some stop-fray cement; it dried right away, gave it another 10 min, then put the top down. When I put it back up at the end of the day, the cement is now a spot stuck to the back of the roof and the frayed hole up front was that much bigger.

Went for a scenic drive to Issaquah for an ethanol-free fillup. Took the scenic route up to see family in Duvall; could have been a preview for part of the upcoming CCA tour, the countryside was so pretty and the backroads so nice. (If you're in the area, the tour is 4/27, 8am start in Issaquah) Everything about "doing for" lil' blue ended up as "done to" it, but the driving was just about nice enough to make up for a badly started day.
No pics?

Setup my own insurance policy now as a married man. It's nice to have that discount now since my insurance went from $600 to $440!
Car is coming out to play April 1st. 5 more days

Wasn't planning on it yet but these popped up for sale. Going to scavenge the LCI eyebrows for my headlights project. Glad I found them so cheap, I was expecting to spend significantly more to do this

Wow, those prices make me wonder if I should buy backups for the future.

I have eyebrows that you could use, they are sitting in my basement if you want them.

They were ripped from my old halogen to bi-xenon retrofits I did years ago.

Good for you.

Now let's just hope you didn't marry a woman like I did that racks up tickets quicker than I can count!

Let me know if you want help with the wrap! I have some experience with this now lol. Also offer is still there for getting that panel smoothed out with body filler.

Tape EVERYTHING and go slow but be deliberate, the CF will want to grab the bits right when you get through so be ready for that. Same with cutting wheels, go slow and let the wheel do the work with very light pressure.

A couple pics from my installation:

Probably want to use the diamond wheels for CF. Definitely with PPE!

I wish it were tickets, it will be cheaper than shoes, purses and watches in the long run. For now I am holding her at bay claiming we have to pay off the mortgage first!

I will hold out on this for as long as I possibly can....

No attachment! Just grab the bits and chuck em up! I got SC4 bits, and they have worked perfectly for all kinds of stuff- I'll definitely be getting more when I finally wear these out!

CHOP CHOP

Today we cut into the car and mounted Jay's flares. Very happy with how close they fit as a starting point. now to sand, fiberglass and mold these on to be seamless. It's amazing how sturdy these are. after bolting them down you wouldn't even know they're fiberglass when giving them a pull. Very confident in the construction of these
