HELP!! Xenon not working

Hey Guys,

A few weeks ago my footwell module went to sh!t. I got a brand spanking new one and got it coded (by codemycar.com) however my passenger side XENON is still out. the AE, turn signals work and I've replaced the Bulbs with working ones (no luck) the silver control module under the headlight (no luck) and even tested with another working headlight (same thing no Xenons, but everything else works)

can someone pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease help IDK what else to check at this point.

Im about out of ideas....and every soooooooo salty

Maybe you need to clear your error memory in the FRM or start checking fuses.

how do you clear the error memory?

Also the fuses looked ok when I last checked (a couple weeks ago) but I just noticed last night (keep in mind i never used this feature) that the "auto" switch for the headlights does nothing.

anyone know if the junction box has anything to do with it?

Have you tried the black box that connects to the ballast?(silver box)

The silver box is the ballast im saying the black box under the headlight that the silver box (ballast) slides into to connects to.

hmm I'll double check...thing is I tested with another working headlight and got the same issue Willortiz

+1 for clearing the error memory. It's a PIA but you need Tool 32 to code it and reset this.

after something like 50 cycles of the bulb being burnt it damaged (i.e. The circuit is broken) the computer will turn off the power to that bulb.

It may be an issue with the FRM if that's when the problem started, probably needs to be diagnosed by a shop

1AddictsAnonymous Can someone help me with the Tool 32 etc.....I already replaced the FRM with a new one and got it coded (so literally everything works except that lowbeam/light). How would one clear the error memory (you can PM me or something lol)...I am sooooooooooooooooo salty about this and want to get it figured ASAP since inspection is passed due and the DMV cops are looking ever so hungry

Here mate, Tool32 is included with the BMW standard tools suite. Here is a very comprehensive guide on how to install http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=windows+10

Once you've installed everything, reply back here. You mentioned that you got your FRM coded, who did that? I think you might just have to clear your error memory for the FRM, very easy with INPA (included with BMW standard tools)

I have the same footwell module problem. Where did you get yours at? I had to replace the ballast, control module and some other headlight parts and still no luck.

At work right now but I've got links you can reference at home, in the mean time search BMW tool 32 bulb reset. There's s couple good threads on E90 post coding, BMW coding, and the e90 M3 forum. Same procedure.

just in case error codes are as follows:

RDC 1 error stored E0: 6050
DSC 1 error stored 60: 5DE3
FRM 3 error stored:
A8AB 24
A8AF 64
A8Ae 64

I started with the same exact thing I got my FRM brand spanking new form the dealer (sadly it was cheaper than ECS)

but I've already tried another bulb/replaced the silver box(control module) and
even tested with a working headlight and still no luck...like im FREAKING out cuz its ONLY the xenon that doesnt work...AE's and blinkers are fine...

I checked your fault codes in ISTA, the first one corresponds to the dipped beam as expected, but the other ones relate to your foglights...

I assumed you had a 135i though

Whoever scanned your car, did they clear the faults?

If you send me your vin number, i'll check the fault codes against your car. I used my car to check the faults so theres a chance it might be different. PM it if you don't want it publicly listed.

Ill shot you my VIN in a PM....I have a 128i (but I know the previous owner used to have fogs from when I checked wiring)...
