Is this in regards to existing lurching issues?

I turned off traction control completely (hold down button for 3 seconds) and the DCT shifts WAY faster when the sport button is on. Does the XHP flash do this? I think I'm on Stage 2 or 3, can't remember.
I wish the transmission would shift like this regardless of traction control being on or off. Is this possible? |

I wonder if there are any fundamental differences between the map for the e-series N55, and the F series N55 (M2).

guys if you are having lurching issues with ac on and/or engine is stalling. then do the following in order(if it doesn't work proceed to the next one):
1, reset transmission adaptation(drive around for a bit) 2, raise idle rpm by 150-200rpm(lower it back down if it does not work) 3, get update from the dealership 4, reset transmission adaptation 5, raise idle rpm by 150-200rpm(dealership should have done this but most does not)(lower it back down if it doesn't work) 6, check for boostleak(either a smoke test or using mhd)(if it was a boostleak and you fixed it and still jerks with ac on, do number 7,8) 7, reset transmission adaptation 8, raise idle rpm by 150-200(lower it down if it doesnt fix the issue) 9, check and fix any engine/sensor issues(if you found and fixed it do 10,11) 10, reset transmission adaptation 11, raise idle rpm by 150-200 12, check battery if its program correctly 13, check for a bad dme heres what happen with my car, when i bought it had the usual jerking and stalling issue with ac on, the update from the dealership fixed the stalling issue but it still jerks when coming to a stop, i found out that i had a bad boost controller and wasn't making target boost via MHD, I fixed the issue but the car was still jerking, it was until i raise the rpm by 200 that it fixed the issue. I raise the rpm by 200/reset the transmission adaptation every time i did something to the car so it wasn't just raising the rpm. the DCT monitor boost level so if you got a boostleak she(transmission) goes wonky(if i understand it correctly). hope that helps you guys/gals, it only took me 1 year and 2k to figure it out and most of it is from going to bmw dealership/bmw indyshop/bmw mechanics(non of them even check for a boostleak they just assume it was a transmission issue), installing MHD was the most helpful thing i did cause then i could diagnose issues by looking at the logs. BTW i don't work for MHD and my 135i have not been having the lurching/stalling issue since then. sorry for thread jacking, i wanted to also subscribe to this thread since i'm very interested on XHP. |

I have a big turbo kit on my car that contains a relocated 3.5" diameter intake. After install and initial tuning I had lurching/idle surge issues for the very first time. I then added an air straightener to the intake and noticed a very big difference, the issues were much more mild and nearly resolved but they were still present. My next step is fitting the stock location BMS intake I used to have on my car, because I feel like the 3.5" diameter one from my turbo kit is throwing the MAF off not allowing it to get proper readings to the DME. I used to have this intake on the car with my stock turbo and never had lurching issues, so hopefully it will resolve the problem once I refit it. For those of you who have any kind of lurching issues and also have a modified intake on the car, I recommend you try the STOCK intake and airbox and see if it makes a difference. Also clean your MAF sensor while you are there. |

I have been running xHP Stage 3 on my ps2 setup. No more idle revs, and no more delay in take off. Stepping on it from a stop puts you in the back of your seat with no delay.
Although this flash did uncover my flywheel issues and brought on ghost knock much worse. Replacing the flywheel with m4 / mfactory fixes that issue. |

You guys who are having the lurching issue should try resetting the engine adaptations, not just the transmission.
The fix in the BMW bulletin for this issue is to update the DME software and reset the ENGINE adaptations, as this is more of an idle fluctuation problem then a transmission problem (hence why raising the idle seems to sometimes fix it). |

I don’t see a change at idle. Have you heard differently?

Oh the the disable creep function! That one is great. I didn’t notice a change in idle though.

Yeah be glad to share any experience I have.
You can raise idle via mhd can’t you? I had a lot of challenges with xhp. One was the soft rev limiter kicking in too soon. You may want to ask wedge if that is something you should have installed. I fixed the issue, but it was in my engine flash, not the trans flash.

That is exactly what I am trying to understand...if I raise my idle RPM in MHD, will that also be idle RPM with xHP with the car stopped, but in D. Right now, it goes to around 500 RPM, I think, from a stock (or a custom) P idle. If I can get it to go to 1K while stopped in D, then my NVH engine mount issues are no longer a problem. Wedge specifically recommended the xHP tune for the DCT. What do you mean by the soft rev limiter kicking in too soon? I thought there was only one rev limiter?

Not sure about the idle changing but I don’t see why it would.
Maybe soft rev limit is not the correct term, but basically there is a rev limit that kicks in around 7k, maybe a little less, but after I flashed xhp it would start kicking in around 6300, basically cutting power. But since wedge knows you will have it you will be fine.

Idle RPM in MHD settings only affects your idle when in park. When stopped at a light the idle will be much lower.
I had my MHD idle set to 900, but when at a stop its around 5-600. |
