M4 style and functional headlights for e82/e87/e88

Hi All,

How come a lot of the pro shops only do custom work on xenon headlights?

For instance, I would love to purchase something like the below. Does anyone know any reputable shops that do this type of custom work on halogen model cars?

I would pay $750 for these without a flinch.

They have a spot on their website for recommended shops...I think theres two in NY. One of them will definitely be able to help you do the retro fit for halogen or at least answer any of the questions you have about the halogen retrofit. I think bavgruppe design has a few ring retro fits for halogen.

The shape of the halogen housings are different sizes than the xenons. It would require all new halos to be made. That market is likely way too small to bother. You're best off to get some used xenons and start from there.

So did you end up finding a shop that does this? I only know of rush customs in Atlanta (I think...or Florida) that does this

Hey, yeah but they quoted $2,500.... to purchase used xenon headlights and then to install the parts. Bavgruppe themselves quoted me.

Bav has a kit for halogen to 3/4 rings like these.

I looked into it, depending on what you get, I looked for the switchback red rings and switchback amber/white eyebrow and it was like 800 ish

If you're tech savvy you can do it yourself, but it's a pita and you will have to take apart your headlights.

There's a few diys on how to do it in this forum and on YouTube. You need an oven and a heatgun and some other tools to help pull the lens off the headlight to do the modification.

I also got a quote from a few people through bav and a company in LA to do the install and it was like usd 1000 and I have to buy all the parts and send them to them along with my headlights. For that price I'd rather do it myself.

But you can do it with halogen lights and their kit.
