Another JB+ Question

I'm just wondering what are the specifics of the adaptation period. I installed my JB+ today and I know it takes time to adapt. Being the pragmatist that I am, I want to know what occurs during the adaptation period. Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm looking for some technical detail. What occurs during this time? Does the ECU need time to be fooled by the JB+? Does the JB+ need to sample multiple driving situations in order to fully adapt? It just seems odd to me.

I felt a little something on my way home from school this evening. Could just be in my head.

BTW, I'll be in Philly this weekend. My fiancee is forcing me to go to the Eastern State Pen haunted house. Any good restaurant recommendations for me?

So it's something you'll definitely know when it kicks in, right?

If you don't notice it then your doing something wrong... Give it more gas.. that should fix the problem... j/k... now that mine is fully adapted the TC likes to kick in at the slightest touch of the gas... give it a little more gas and it puts your ass back in the seat!!!

Give it a few days of normal driving, combined with some WOT. It takes a little time for the ECU to adapt.

I understand this. I'm trying to be patient.

My question is: what happens during this break-in period? Is there millions of calculations going on? Is there a virus being planted in my car like when Zero Cool hacks the Gibson? I'm just curious.

I think you are like me. I have a harder time feeling the difference because I tend to expect a lot more then the part will give. This happened in my Cobra when I put a smaller blower pulley on it. I thought it did nothing because I was expecting Armageddon, but what I got was the Falkland war....interesting with a short battle something akin to getting into ass kicking contest with a one legged man

No but seriously I know I thought the same thing at first with the JB3. It was a few days until it dawned on me that it was a lot faster. Also if you are doing a lot of city driving like you mentioned to me heat soak will be an issue and suck power away. that is why so many go to a better FMIC. the stock ones just cant handle the extra boost for very long it seems. Mine gets to that point rather fast and then the car feels slow. My Cobra was the same way, and it always frustrated me.

I did some WOT runs tonight and some mixed driving during the day. I'm starting to feel it. I'm also starting to realize that cranking it up to 100% isn't a bad idea.

Just for poops and laughs I went out did a few pulls on map 3 then put it back to stock and wow the diff is huge I forgot how big. If you can put it back to stock I think you will see the difference then.

weird...go to my site and click on support then click on the download instructions for the stage 1 and 2 below the JB+ one. then go to page 12. Maybe macs internet interface has some sort of security issue with it.
