How should I get this off ?

I took the center caps off my summer rims and I don't want this rust to be all out there

I was thinking of maybe just plastidipping the rusted "center cap" region

Yeah that's pretty nasty. Is it all four wheels I'm assuming? Try sanding and painting with high temperature hub paint or some type of rust proofing paint. Does it leak rust onto your rims too?

Nope thank god, just in there and some on the wheel hubs in the rear.
I might bring it in the BMW and try to complain and see what they can do

Unfortunatly it's gonna happen. I assume since your in Canada you have salt on the raods etc. which does not help. I only have 3K on mine and it's got some rust. Germans love their salt.

wire brush and soem sand paper did the trick for mine but mne was not nearly as bad. It took a pretty good battle to get my rear rims off! I now give it a brush and sandpaper and then hit it with some anti-seize compound and it seems to do the trick!

plastidip wont stay on. brake area gets way to hot for plastidip, it will just melt right off.

A wire brush with some PB Blaster will help you remove that rust. After doing so, you can spray the hub with a high-temp black/gray paint to keep it from rusting. This is what most BMW owners will do to prevent any future rust.
