Yellow Brake Light of Misery
I installed new brakes.
They didn't have the slot for the brake sensor, so I just zip tied them up. Unfortunately, don't think I did a great job and some wires got damaged. Now I have a yellow BRAKE light on my dash. Can I just make it go away? I would also be okay with removing the sensors as I don't plan on using them. Anyway to get rid of light would be much loved! Thanks. |

My rear sensor had a wire break and I don't give enough of a crap to replace it, so I unplugged the sensor from the car's connector (it's behind a trim piece to the left of the right rear wheel) and jumpered the connector with a small bit of thin paper clip to simulate the closed loop of a "good" sensor. I taped the clip so it's secure and reset the service reminder to 60,000 miles. It's been off ever since.
Drove me absolutely friggin' nuts for a few weeks before I got pissed and bypassed it. |

This works sometimes, but didn't the last time I changed pads. Local indy shop told me to change the sensor. Just zip tied it up, but that fixed the problem.
